Guys, thanks for posting about that tour. Wish I coudda caught it.

But, floop, "middleaged, ex-70's punk burnouts with leather jackets and Joey Ramone hair"? Dude, that's me to a T. Well, except for the 10 inches I had cut off last week. That description cracked me up.

I won tickets to that show off WFNX in Boston (before they sucked ass). Providence Rode Island. I had to leave right when the ramones went on because I took the train down. Once we got to the station we found out he train was two hours late and we could have stayed for the Ramones. I only went there to see frank though. I felt kind of cool walking out as soon as he was done. Everyone was looking at me like "You came to see the opening act?".
Ugliest t'shirts I've ever seen "F is for Frank B is for Black".

i saw the first show of that tour in San Francisco, at the Warfield. it was 1994 (thank you gigography)

he was completely solo when i saw him, which was cool. but i felt for him because it was a big venue, and clearly most of the crowd was there to see the Ramones. ie. middleaged, ex-70's punk burnouts with leather jackets and Joey Ramone hair. the whole crowd looked like the Ramones. it was pretty funny.

i remember he was wearing sunglasses. and i remember being blown away by his guitar playing on Freedom Rock.

I saw the FB/Ramones tour too - in Cincinnati - I guess that was 1992 or 1993. All a blur to tell you the truth. It wasn't one his better shows, relative to the ones I have seen since. Part of that might be the fact that it was just him and a guy on electric guitar, or that the crowd was very unruly while waiting for the Ramones to get onstage. I was front-row-center against the rail, and when the Ramones came on the crowd surged and broke one of my ribs against the railing. Hurt like shit the rest of the show, and occasionally to this day, but the pain brings back fond memories.

I will be communicating with Frank the entire time, Rita. Don't you worry, sister. I will be sending out the love from everyone at the forum. He will be
awash in our collective adoration.

Meanwhile, I'm slumming it, waiting for KOK to get off his butt and
tell me about the Ramones/Frank show. What are you doing that's so
important? Feeding the chameleons?

Because there are only a few days and hours before I go on my
three-night Pixies Road Show. And because you would be counting
the days and hours, too, if you were going. Ouch!

Fine, you win. That's great. I hate you.

But check this out:

Five more nights and I see Frank three nights in row. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

P.S. When and where did you see that fine double bill?
