Posted - 11/18/2004 : 22:24:12 Anyone know of the band Spoon? I have one album(Girls can tell) It's on very heavy rotation, over here these days. I tried to find out more about them on their official website. http://www.spoontheband.com/site.html
I guess it's a work in progress

Posted - 11/19/2004 : 13:54:02 I would highly recomend you seek out their other EP's. There are some b-sides and cool video clips availble on their European labels website [url]www.12xu.net[url]. I found all of their EP's on Soulseek, so they might still be there. I can't wait for LP5... |

I'm pretty sure that Britt Daniel is playing a show at Maxwell's in Hoboken pretty soon. I'm not sure of the exact date, unless what you are talking about is that show, which would make it very recent. As far as Spoon goes, I'm really excited about their next release; I can't seem to stop listening to Kill the Moonlight. Edit: Actually, after looking it up, that show is on the 26th of November. If it isn't 18 or 21 plus, I'll probably find my way to Hoboken.
Turn the spit on that pig and kick the drum and let me down. Put my clarinet beneath your bed 'til I get back in town.

Posted - 11/19/2004 : 12:25:30 Let's not forget "A Series Of Sneaks". Brilliant stuff. And all their ep's are great, they could have a really solid b-sides record. And yes, Dean has a copy of Telephono.... MY COPY! Which I finally got back and have listened to non-stop since. |

KoK, 'Girls Can Tell' is a good album, but you really need to pick up 'Kill the Moonlight'...it will no doubt blow you away if you dig the other one.
This is true. I had GCT first, loved it, and then really fell for KTM. |

i'll PM you with my current address. actually, if you could forward it on to the N. American Mixer crowd, that would be much appreciated...Looks like I'll have to venture over to the ex-gf's apt. (my old place) to pick up a couple of unreceived mixes. |

Dean- care to burn a fellow Spoon afficionado a copy of the oft-coveted, frustratingly elusive nugget of goodness that is 'Telephono'? i think I remember you saying that you had a copy... |

Posted - 11/18/2004 : 23:18:34 I didn't catch that thread. I wish that I had. I heard about them on a Merge compilation I have. Finally bought it after hearing them again on Merge radio (which is great). Try Karl Hendricks Trio. They are available on itunes music store. "For a while it was funny" would be a great first of theirs. I really like this band.
