It's got to be 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'.

I think Dwight Yoakam was great in a small role as a farmer in that 'Roswell' TV movie, and as the mean guitarist boyfriend in 'Sling Blade'. He's also in Panic Room.

Two words for you: Johnny Mnemonic

Henry Rollins and Ice-T were the only things worth watching in this film.

Flea in the Big Lebowski. oh Aimee Mann was the ninetoed woman too.

Moving from the clown to the jester will mean moving from similar to same, from alike to identical, from comparable to analogous. Though applied differently, the colours used on one can be used on another, and a couple of changes of costume will rapidly transform the jester into a clown and the clown into a jester. Strictly speaking, they almost duplicate each other as regards clothes and function, the only difference between them, from a social point of view, is that clowns do not usually visit the palaces of kings.

Sorry Edwina, i've only heard the soundtrack...which is good :)

So have you seen the actual movie? What part does he play?
Scarla O Posted - 11/24/2004 : 08:17:15

oh yes he only appears in the movies he knows are going to sell well ;)
but the soundtrack to 'masked and anonymous' is interesting.
It has a bunch of people covering his songs...there's a couple
of guys singing 'my back pages' in japanese which i enjoyed.

Another great performance for a musician is Screamin' Jay Hawkins in Mystery Train, another Jarmusch film.

Gregg Allman in Rush. He's no angel, though.

Mick Jagger played a convincing cameo as a transvestite in Bent

This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate!

Blue in the Face (w/ Lou Reed) - he tells some very nice stories in it. But then Maddona made an awful appearance.

But does this work conversly? Johnny Depp or Russell Crow would surely get the votes. Gallagher was complementing Depp as being a very good guitar player and he actually contributed to the soundtrack of Chocolat.

Is Sean Penn in a band? He really impressed me as that jazz guitarist in Woody Allen's Sweet and Lowdown.
TarTar Posted - 11/17/2004 : 11:40:31
Jason Schwarzman from Phantom Planet.

I guess you could say Donnie Darko, too, since the lead singer of Phantom Planet is in that.

Signature's are kind of like bumper stickers, only less sticky.

Forgive my ignorance, but who in Rushmore is a musician (other than that lounge lizard, Bill Murray)?

"Short Cuts" by Robert Altman- with Tom Waits. Oh yes.

Also check out Jim Jarmusch's new film 'coffee and cigarettes.' It features a vignette with Tom Waits and Iggy Pop struggling to conduct a coherent conversation - Priceless! This definitely gets my vote.

Employee of the month is a good example of how somebody can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Yeah, I agree on that. I found the episode with the White Stripes a bit disappointing, though.
