Uh, yeah, as mentioned, you dont' really want to spend a lot of time in that hood. If I were staying in Chicago, I'd stay at a fabu hotel downtown, but that's me. I'm into comfort.
As my husband mentioned in another thread, we're headed down from Milwaukee this Sunday. Anybody up for coctails?
Oh, and locals, it's been a long time since I've seen a show at the ol' Brawlroom. How much has it changed, since, say, the Clash's Combat Rock Tour? (I can't remember if that was the last show I saw there, or was it the Joe Jackson Night and Day tour.....) Last time i was there, the beer garden was caled the Casbah ( and yes, it went nuts wheen the clash played that hit...) and they ran out of regular beer cups, so they started serving beer in popcorn tubs, you know, the "Big is More" size. By the end of "Should I Stay or Should I Go" I was drenched, DRENCHED I tell you, in cheap swill, which actulllllly helped me tolerate that disgusting women's room with the inch or two of some liquid (I won't venture to say it was just water) all over the floor.....
Please tell me things have gotten better....

Posted - 11/09/2004 : 09:19:26 How close do you need to be? Cause that area is not really the kind of place you want to stay the night - the only hotels in the neighborhood are for "indigents". Are you flying into Chicago?
There's a little bit of discussion about this here too: http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10080
I was going to try to sell my tickets for the 15th. No such luck, so we might end up going after all. boohoo ;) |
