Something always struck me as odd about those films tho, I mean there's some quite sophisticated themes, references and symbols to be found but they're generally expressed with some of the most leaden dialogue clambering out of actors mouths like stones, and to me it doesn't feel intentional - if it had, the lines would have been funnier. I write every day and to give you an idea, it's the equivalent of a pianist playing Rachmaninov with his left hand and mashing the keys with his elbow for the right hand. So my theory is that Lucas had a lot of uncredited help.

--

But whenever, as scholars sometimes do, I turned my back on books, declaring them to be the graveyards of the language, and sought contact with the simple folk, I encountered the little cannibals who lived in our building, and after brief association with them, felt very glad to get back to my reading in one piece.

I wanted to kill Lucas when I heard it. Ridiculous.

When reading the shot by shot breakdown of the trailer on www.theforce.net , I got VERY excited. Ridiculous excited. When they explain what the things you are seeing are... I cannot wait until May.

k, watched the whole trailer...blah..not so excited now.

I *am* excited about a new Indiana Jones! I love that character. =)

Star Wars has blown the big ol donkey dick since 1983. And this new thing about midochlorians in the Jedi's body, rather than the original and much kinder idea of an energyforce that permeates all and everything, sounds a little Aryan to me.

Lucas has been building with these movies. The first was blah, and second was better, and this one is shaking up to be ever more so. Ewan McGregor, who has had many critical words of the first two, has spoken rather highly and excitingly about the quality of scipt and acting in this picture. And in all honesty, this picture's a slam dunk. It has in it all thee vents that were reason to make this trilogy in the first place: the clone war, the anakin and ben kenobi fight, Vader, birth of the twins, formation of the empire, the emperor taking over, the jedi being wiped out, plus wookies.

Oh, and more lighsaber action then any of the others:
Anakin and Obi-wan v. Dooku
Mace Windu v. Anakin and the Emperor
Obi-Wan v. General Grevious
Yoda v. Emperor
Anakin v. Obi-Wan

The prequels are crappy...Clones has it's moments, but, mehhh...I'm a bit Rings fan-can't wait for the extended edition next month. I dunno weather to get the original trilogy boxset, or wait and see if a better edition or perhaps 2-disc sets of the individual films come out, with deleted scenes and a decent set of out-takes(I'm a real anorak like that!) I've heard they look fantastic, totally restored and remastered(in crystal-clear digital etc.-I sound like a bloody advertisement!)

Wow...that preview...crazy. Looks like it has potential. Then again, all the others had potential. When is it supposed to come out?

Empire had a sort of creepy energy to it, they'll have to work hard to recapture it. McGregor isn't bad, but he doesn't nail that old Alec Guinness accent (it's English but somewhat different, almost archaic accent). Not a Natalie Portman fan at all, too childish. The movies are good, but not nearly as the old ones. I will blaspheme a bit and say I prefer the new Lord of the Rings films to the new Star Wars. Old Star Wars were awesome though.

I dunno, I am quite bored of the whole Star Wars (probably as I have seen the original 3 movies far too many times) and LOTR thing. IMO the second LOTR was an awesome movie, couldn't fault it in any way, however the first one I found to be boring and the final, although good, dragged on and got a little too soppy at the end.

Even if the new Star Wars movie is amazing, it is still gonna be brought down by the fact that the first two new ones have been severely dissapointing. George Lucas needs a right kick in the goolies if you ask me, he should have left his original masterpieces alone.

Are there still rumors flying about of a new Indiana Jones? Every now and then Ford or Spielberg drop hints, but then you hear nothing afterwards. Personally I think that Ford is well past it.

Another Godfather movie however would be welcome! Mind you Francis Ford Coppolla hasn't done anything decent in a long time.

This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate!

I'm looking forward to the new one, the first two new ones imo were a load of rubbish. Ewan McGregor makes a awful Obi Wan, and that kind of spoils it as I cringe everytime he tried to put on an English accent. But this one will surely be in similar style to Empire, which I think is the best Star Wars movie.

Star Wars Episode 3
Revenge of the Sith Trailer
Trailer Summary
Revenge of the Sith movie trailer available at starwars.com Hyperspace on November 4, 2004.

Available in theaters with the computer-animated film, "The Incredibles" on November 5, 2004.

The teaser trailer will be available to the general public at starwars.com on November 8, 2004.

The trailer begins with a familiar voice over with Alec Guinness. Guinness speaks his monologue to Luke Skywalker from A New Hope about "Jedi Knights always being the guardians of peace."

As Guinness talks in the background, movie shots from the Star Wars saga, not including Revenge of the Sith, are seen reminding us of what is to be.

At the end of Guinness’ words: "Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force," we then see the face of Anakin Skywalker. Anakin’s dark hood is partially covering Anakin’s face, looking absolutely nefarious.

Next we see erupting volcanoes, then an ominous volcanic field with crab-like creatures and then darkness, all accompanied by Vader breathing.

Next we hear dialogue from Revenge of the Sith.

Got another link to the trailer, the one i downloaded was corrupt...

Neat how they tie it into Ep IV, with Obi Wan.

Don't like how Vader says 'Yes MastUR' rather than 'Yes Master' with more of an English flair..

Definitely looks more promising than the last two.

I like the new movies. I mean, I have my complaints, but overall I like em. So I will go see Ep 3 on opening night and I will stand in line if need be and then go see it again that weekend.

Nope. I'm not going to fall for this shit anymore. Georgie-Porgie fucked me over twice. I have no desire to see episode three.

I love how people complain about these films but they always go back for more. Why do you think they continue to be made so shitty? Because you'll see it anyway. I'm out.

It has lots of wookies in it. i like wookies. I once bent my wookie. what's a diorama?
Palpatines with his lightsaber looks wacky.
Space shots are incredible.

Short but good.
