Women, minorities, and homosexuals will flock to our country, while farmers, truck drivers, and dentists will populate theirs.

When the Dems had labor and New Deal and Economic liberalism in the 20th century sense people loved them. The social liberalism of today seems to turn a lot of old Dems off, even they vote Republican now.

I once read somewhere that someone (it might have been Nostradamus) predicted that at the beginning of the 21st Century the middle east would rise up and start a third world war. The majority of Europe would fall, which included France and Spain and that the fightback would start from the shores of Great Britain.
Of course I don't believe any of this at all.

Hey Veronica, how's every little thing?! And by which, I specifically mean your no-longer-so new little thing? You and Mr. Sabre getting some sleep these days? (pass my hello to him, too)
I even like the guy's name, Feingold. I was watching the election coverage up here and thought, "How could you vote against a guy with a name like that. No wonder he's winning!" That he's a good person is even better news.
As for a United States of Canada, we'd be more that happy, except:
1) No more Arnie.
2) New Yorkers must suddenly become insanely polite.
3) All California residents must learn to live like the rest of us.
4) We get Frank Black.
5) That's all.

Seriously, one bright spot in all of this is that a friend of mine who works at Planned Parenthood says their phones were ringing off the hook with "How can I help?" calls....
ETA: I take pride in the fact that Illinois, where I was born, bred, and educated through a bachelor's degree, sent an eleoquent young man to the Senate, rather easily, and was also a blue state. I am heading out to find my old "Don't Blame me, I'm from Wisconsin" and taking pride in teh fact that we delivered not only our ten stinkin' electoral votes for Kerry, but returned the wonderful Russ Feingold, the only man in congress with the guts to stand up against that stupid "Patriot" act. His opponent tried to use that against him, which doesn't play well among us cheeseheads, who love our mavericks. Even people who disagree with Feingold's vote on that defend him saying "He speaks his mind and he's principled!"

2004 is when the civil war is supposed to begin. I had a dream about a month ago in which I was warning everybody that if Bush is re-elected, there will be a civil uprising.

Ha! The title of this cracks me up.
I am so there. Thank God I already live in a blue state. Not that it makes a huge difference, but it is a small comfort.

There is a civil war in the United States that starts in 2005. That conflict flares up and down for 10 years. In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China and Europe. The United States counter attacks. The US cities are destroyed along with the AFE (American Federal Empire)...thus we (in the country) won. The European Union and China were also destroyed. Russia is now our largest trading partner and the Capitol of the US was moved to Omaha Nebraska.

I too thought the reason would be to do with election, but i have heard this a something going to happen in london/america quite soon anyway/

remember that guy who claimed he was from the future... and that there'd be a civil war in america in 2005 and then a full blown out world war in 2015 or something? well, i remember thinking, well if this IS true, a likely cause would be bush being re-elected in 2004, but there still being a huge opposition. and all this talk of dividing the country up has got me thinking...
hmm, well... if there is a civil war in america next year, you can be sure i'll be moving to the most remote place on earth by the time it's 2015. |
