Unless I've just heard "Ramble Tamble" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. In that case, I will still be in my state of blissful musical hypnosis from it and will offer up CCR as the best "C" band. |

I couldn't agree more. For honorable mention, though, the Cowboy Junkies are way up there. "Black Eyed Man" is one of my top three favorite albums of all-time. It's up there with FB's "Honeycomb." Like all good novels and albums, both those albums deal in the two great themes of life: death and infidelity. (Which ought to have been the name of a Johnny Cash album, come to think of it. There's another C artist.)
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

funny someone should mention carterUSM, i met ian astbury, billy duffy and matt sorum at a carter show in vancouver. it was on a sunday night and their were about 100 people there, matt sorum was drunk or something and was heckling the band, quite amusing. carter was heckling back, looked like it was all in good fun! |

In all seriousness, probably Crooked Fingers. I like lots of C bands, but the Crooked Fingers Reservoir Songs EP kicks so much ass even though it's all covers and has only 5 songs. Sure, their album of originals, Red Devil Dawn, is good stuff, but it's the Reservoir Songs EP that makes me want to say they're the best C band. I'm probably forgetting a band I've listened to a lot more, but oh well.

I have surprisingly few "C" bands records in my collection.
