Well, with The Beatles, Beach Boys, Bowie, Blur, Frank Black, and the Beastie Boys I'm not even wagering a guess. Will Frank Black win? Can we vote against the originals? I can't.

Frank Black

Why not just have a thread for your favorite band for each letter, so as not to clog up the forum?

Perhaps this has already been done. If so, don't mind me. I haven't read this part of the forum since before Christmas, and I'm struggling to catch up.

I see these threads are being revived... are we going to move on to D, E, F then?

Cool, someone else knows Bishop Allen!!! For those in the midwest-to-eastern US, Bishop Allen is touring with Mates of State, check them out if you can. They are great live.
I love Belle and Sebastian too! (And of course Frank Black, but that goes without saying, non?)

Awsome I found bishop allen while searching for new music online and Im also happy to see someone knows who they are. Do you know if theyre touring ny anytime soon? I was actually thinking of starting a thread called listen to bishop allen, cause I think pixies fans would love them.

Does anyone else think we should just go ahead and do a "favorite band for each letter in the alphabet" thread on the Pong forum?

I'll have to cast another vote for the obvious choice: Frank Black.

Ah, thankyou apl. I totally forgot about The Birthday Party.

Tre - I didn't say that you were being "mean". I meant that you had already said the exact same thing and I didn't understand why you had to say it again just because other people were choosing the Beatles. Oh, I know; Tongue-in-cheek and sarcasm are totally unknown to me. Tongue-in-huh? What-casm?

I do get bored! I get bored! In the flat field!

1. Beatles

Honorable mentions: Bowie, Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Big Black, Frank Black, Blue Oyster Cult, Black Flag (pre-Rollins)

I don't know how anyone figures Dylan goes under 'B'.

I give 1/3 of a vote to my three alternatives.

ooh... i misread this... i thought we were supposed to come up with new bands each time... oops. :) Then my vote goes to Frank, Bowie,Bob Dylan and the Beatles in that order. But it's a VERY close race.

I've never said FB is my favourite artist I don't think... Possibly stoning is an over-reaction

I came to FB.net for out of boredom, but stayed for the witty banter I guess.

What a mature way of looking at it. Proves you wrong about aging hey?

Here's how I look at it: if I could take one set of complete recrded works to a desert island, and I had to choose between Beatles and Frank Black, I'd choose the Beatles. I'm sorry...

Crouto. Lighten up, I'm starting to think tongue in cheek is a far removed concept to you, yeah I don't like the beatles, I don't feel particularly bad about it though, everyone else rave rave rave beatlemania, so maybe I ham up my dislike for them a bit but it isn'd much of a big deal. Wee on the beatles is meant to be cheeky, if I meant to me mean I'd have said "the beatles are a big bag of over-rated popularist shit" wouldn't I?

clearly the answer is Bob Denver.
TheCroutonFuton Posted - 10/31/2004 : 16:55:26
If "Frank Black" is in this...then it should only be artists with a last name beginning with "b", right? If that's not the case I second Bob Dylan for another great "b" band.

I concur, Cheeseman. If you look at it with the desert island scenario...yeah, definitely the Beatles. As much as I love Frank ...The White Album just has so many different types of music. Beatles > Frank Black

Tre - You already said once in this thread that the Beatles deserved to be weed upon. I don't see the point in making a post that only says "WEE on the beatles... WEE" when other people list the Beatles. A lot of people like them. It's your loss that you don't.

Anyways, mark me down for the Beatles.

Penguins can be bitches too.
