So, I have to change my name soon, since its still the one on my birth certificate, (dads name...long story), and i was thinking, why bother change it to the name i have now, which i dislike, and is boring, when i could change it anything!

S, heres my ideas thus far;

Melanie De Wilde (polish, apparently, which I am partly..)

or

Melanie Rocks (just cos its cool)

what do you think?

If you could change your surname, what would you change it too?

Melanie De Wilde (polish, apparently, which I am partly..)

De Wilde is as dutch as Ruud van Nistelrooy
I have never heard of it as a polish name
De Wilde means The Wild One

I can look up a few polish names though
my friend is part polish
for starters (just some polish soccer players):
Dudek
Rzasa
Smolarek

Oh perhaps I mis read, i think it said something about a little town in poland being called that? not sure

Ohh you were refering to a town, that could be, don't know about that.
De Wilde is for sure a Dutch or Flemmish name.
Melanie Krakau sounds polish

A former roommate of mine had a cat named Storm. It didn't fit the cat at first. The girls who gave the cat to him had been calling it Bosco, and that fit him much more than Storm, but those hippies have to find those nature names. Eventually, Storm sounded right, especially when a friend pointed out that the cat was very ninja-like and the name Storm made him think of Storm Shadow the ninja from G.I. Joe.

Seriously, how can you go wrong with Melanie Black?
You won't have to explain how to spell it. It's Frank's last
name. Plus, Melanie means dark one so you'd be doubly dark.

Just MHO.

I still believe in the excellent joy of the Frank

Good point, yeah Melanie is apparently a Greek name, and means 'princess of the dark' or lady of the night - which i always thought sounded quite dubious!

Do you have a middle name?

It all depends on your middle name. If you don't have one, well, that opens up Pandora's Box - you need one of them too.
