Posted - 10/21/2004 : 11:15:31 Something has happened to the beloved Ween. I was going to see them in Tulsa, OK on Nov 3rd untill I read this.
" Regretfully, we must announce that Ween's upcoming tour of the Midwest has been cancelled.
There is a problem within the band, that requires an immediate intervention, for the health, welfare and safety of one of its members. For this member, years of touring have taken their toll.
This is very sad, of course...but if something is NOT done now...the consequences could be even more dire than the cancellation of these dates.
We know that this will be very hard for everyone to accept...and it was an incredibly difficult decision for the band to come to, but it is necessary and important.
Please forgive us. Know that this was not done lightly...that it is an ABSOLUTE necessity.
Ween will come back stronger and they will reschedule these dates at their earliest possible opportunity.
We thank you for your understanding...we understand your disappointment. We appreciate your support.
All tickets will be refunded and we'll post that information as soon as possible.
Greg Frey, manager for Ween "
I saw more Ween shirts than anything at the Pixies show in Dallas, so mebbie this will hit some of thier fans here.

Who ain't?!
Get a handle on it, man.
This war, it will be just like the War on Drugs. It will be potent and effective and our objectives will be clear. The nation had a nasty drug problem and we declared a war on drugs and spent billions over many years and now you can't buy drugs anymore. It will be just like that.

"Everyone, after reading everything over the last few days, I feel as though I should make a statement. I am an alcoholic. This problem must take precedence over any and all aspects of my life. Thank you for all of your concern and support. This is all I can really say at this time. All my love, Papa."

Posted - 10/25/2004 : 15:32:03 It's likely Aaron aka Gene. I've heard that ever since he divorced his wife, he's been on a decline. Supposedly his weight loss was due to severe drug abuse. If it is a rehab issue, it must be really bad since those guys have been abusing drugs since the mid-80s.

Posted - 10/24/2004 : 18:12:19 I remember reading some old posts from Deaner talking about how Geners voice was always crapping out, even at the beginning of a recent tour. It could be something like that. The lack of explaination as to who and what the illness was effecting may lead one to think of rehab/drugs. Though I know those guys are big on that, I hope it's not the case. Here's to a swifty recovery, to whomever needs it. |

Posted - 10/21/2004 : 12:25:19 Deaner and Gener assure me that Red's blows and they look forward to the comforts provided by the NICE venues in Saskatoon. No more shows in malls! |

Posted - 10/21/2004 : 12:23:48 Yeah, and you will not be invited.
Sad to hear that, hope that whatever it is they get past it, if only to play Saskatoon instead of Edmonton.
