COLUMBUS, Ohio — An attorney with a penchant for getting naked and ambushing women with a camera will be serving time in jail but will still be allowed to practice law.
Stephen Linnen, a 34-year-old former lawyer for the Ohio House Republican caucus, has been nicknamed "the naked photographer" for disrobing and going up to unsuspecting women and taking pictures of their surprised expressions.
He had admitted to photographing women while nude and pleaded guilty to 53 counts of misdemeanor public indecency, sexual imposition and criminal trespassing.
On September 27, Linnen was sentenced to a year-and-half in jail. But the judge declined to label Linnen a sexual offender and determined he was not a threat to the community and would not likely repeat his offenses. Linnen was allowed to keep his law license and will be allowed to leave jail to continue his work as a law clerk.
At his sentencing, Linnen apologized for his actions, but none of his victims were in court. He said he meets with a psychologist weekly and goes to daily meetings for sex addicts. The judge ordered Linnen to continue getting psychiatric treatment.
