Posted - 11/02/2004 : 09:49:09 I only use MP3s on my computer to save space. Actually, for some of my all-time favorite albums I keep them as .WAVs so I can have them digitally in all of their glory. Whenever I'm not at my computer I listen to the actual CDs. (If I have them, hah. Sometimes I use mp3's to see if I like a band.) On my computer right now:
Anderson, Laurie Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire Bauhaus Beatles, The Beck Big Black Black, Frank (and the Catholics, of course) Blondie Bowie, David Buena Vista Social Club Butthole Surfers Cake Cars, The Cave, Nick (and the Bad Seeds, and the Dirty Three) Costello, Elvis Creedence Clearwater Revival Cure, The Dead Kennedys Diddley, Bo Donovan Dropkick Murphys Flogging Molly Funkadelic Ghost Hazzle (A friend's band.) Hendrix, Jimi (The Jimi Hendrix Experience, obviously.) Husker Du Jane's Addiction Joy Division Led Zeppelin Lennon, John Lynch, Steven (Comedian songwriter, some funny stuff. Best in portions, though.) Marley, Bob (and the Wailers) Martin Scorsese Presents: The Blues (The whole thing...lots of really great stuff.) MK Ultra Mogwai Morrissey My Morning Jacket Netherworld (SpudBoy's project) Nirvana Pedro the Lion Pink Floyd Pixies Radiohead Ramones REM Rolling Stones, The Shatner, William Siouxsie and the Banshees Slint Smashing Pumpkins Smith, Elliott Talking Heads Vanderslice, John Weezer Who, The

And I've never heard of this Creative Zen thing. Most MP3 players that I've seen give much less value for your money than an iPod does.
I don't have a portable MP3 player at all, though.

no probs with apple in general but they do charge the hype they create about their products. there are a lot of mp3 players that cost the same or less but aren't carried around by hollywood stars. creative's zen is just an example.

Posted - 10/20/2004 : 19:11:46 I just burn my CDs (most of them) to the computer so I can have a bunch of songs in iTunes and that way I can do a random deal.. MP3s serve some purpose. But no Ipod for me.

Posted - 10/19/2004 : 06:58:22 the thing that's wrong is that ipods are apple and they cost way too much for their capacity. for the same money of a 4gb ipod you can get a 60gb creative zen jukebox.

Whats wrong with iPods Denis? I don't know a great deal about MP3 players, but I think the iPod is one of the best things I have ever bought. Anything that gives me the ability to carry my music collection around with me wherever I go is amazing.

Posted - 10/18/2004 : 13:46:29 Some of my MP3s are higher quality than CD, so your loss dude.
The reason some of favorite bands aren't on my list is because I listen to their CDs from start to finish, and I don't turn many of my CDs to MP3s, I find it to be a rather tedious and boring task.
