yeah they lost their job because the school or hospital they worked in got blown up, so they became a terrorist.

Hundreds of terrorists have lost their jobs because of Bush.

Bush habitually manipulates the statistics, claiming that he has created millions of jobs. In reality, he is the first president since Hoover to lose jobs during his administration.
Ebb Vicious Posted - 10/21/2004 : 18:53:13

actually it's more like 5/4.

hooray for deficit spending!
VoVat Posted - 10/21/2004 : 18:43:52
Yeah, the true figure is probably closer to 4/4.

Could you briefly rough out the arithmetic on that? My googling didn't find such a number. Thank you.

I say "VOTE FOR BUSH!" if you're in need of employment, a nifty haircut, and an all expense paid trip to Iraq.

College Profs. like to make you think there is a job waiting for you when you get out. I guess that helps keep their job in demand. Doesn't happen that way. From my experiences, if you are 45 + and have 20 yrs of experience no one wants to hire you and if they do they don't want to compensate you anything. As for Kerry, I don't see where he is going to do anything to stimulate the job market or economy. I'm voting for Bush for a couple of reasons, one being tort reform. He is for it and that is something my state desperately needs so we don't lose anymore doctors.

Slavish and Psychic-- I feel your pain.... have applied for 150 plus jobs in the last year. you think that with a college degree you are guranteed a job. It's not the case. Keep trying, don't give your hope up and remember to vote for Kerry.

I've thought about going to an Asian country to teach English- considered it several years back, and I let my then roommate talk me out of it. How did you arrange your job- through an agency? What kind of contract do you have? How often can you go back to your home country?
PsychicTwin Posted - 10/19/2004 : 14:44:57
I lost my job under Bush, and am having a horrible time trying to find a new one. Nothing is going right for me these days, NOTHING. but that is a completely different story

Anyway, I don't think a president can be solely responsible for loss of jobs, because the economy is frankly its own beast in many respects....but it's also true that Bush didn't particularly make a big effort to try and stimulate the job sector either.

Come to China and teach.... you can make alot of money and teachers are well in demand.

It's pretty hard to get a decent job. I too, have two degrees. I don't want to go back to yet another low-paying service industry job. I've applied for well over 50 jobs- I've lost count. I rarely hear back from any one. My roomate's going through the same thing.
VoVat Posted - 10/17/2004 : 12:11:25
The only poor people Bush wants to hear about are the people who tend to his pores at the spa!

yeah, i heard him say that and i was like he is so out of touch. I already have 2 degrees and don't need any more. i am now working but a at 1/3 my original pay. With a part time job that brings me up to 1/2 my original pay. Since we had to move to get jobs, our rent is 3x's our original morgage. You do the math. I can't blame bush entirely, but he has provided no actual stimulus to improve the economy.

The Republicans really seemed to have set the playing field for the debates. It's kind of odd, since I think there are more Democrats than Republicans in the country, but maybe that has something to do with the incumbent being Republican. I don't know. Regardless, I get the idea that, to many people, "liberal" means "higher taxes." Obviously that ISN'T what it means, but that seems to be how Bush used it. Of course, non-thinking fundamentalists probably aren't too fond of what "liberal" REALLY means, either.

bush wants to appoint a judge to take away my right to a hammer

the debate was really even. bush did a lot of name calling. why do people find the 'l' word so dirty?

betty

soundofataris Posted - 10/13/2004 : 18:59:43
this man is seriously out of touch. if I had a hammer, I would bash in my brains. why don't i have a hammer?
Ebb Vicious Posted - 10/13/2004 : 18:55:18

1) a LOT of people whose jobs are being sent overseas already have degrees

2) college won't get you a job, lots of people with degrees cannot find jobs.

3) a lot of these people are over 25 years old, they are getting too old to enter the military and that is not a viable solution anyway.

go take your ignorant bush-teabagging opinion elsewhere. i don't have the time and energy to tear you apart any more.

College is good. Or you could volunteer for the military.
