It is Washington and Lee Homecoming Weekend, and of course they always have aband. I thought nothing of it.
It's about 930pm on Friday night and I am not doing anything. My friend calls me and tells me to ride my bike over to his house, he lives right next to campus.
I'm on my bike and pulling into his driveway when I hear a live band. And then I hear what sounds like my favorite song by the Drive-By Truckers.
Turns out they fucking played here last night and I knew nothing of it. I guess it's cool that i got to hear a little of them from far away, but shit man, that's one of my current favorite bands and they almost came and went from this little fucking town and I wouldn't have been any wiser.
I am so pissed off.
It's just like the WebCast from Austin City limits. They showed 15 minutes of Drive By Truckers and cut out into Spooon's 1.5 hours set, sucks.

i'm searching searching searching for a copy of the DBT show i saw in northampton, ma this past september 15th. anyone have a lead? what an amazing performance, especially from where i was standing - six feet from patterson hood. those guys (and gal) are fucking rock stars.
