Posted - 09/30/2004 : 23:36:02 Do any of you find that watching certain things relaxes and calms you? I just bought Star Wars and every episode of Star Trek DS9 and TNG and they are such a comfort. I also collect cartoons (mostly from my childhood) and those are soothing too. I think if I have happy memories attached to something, it tends to relax me. Works with Dick Tracy, Roger Rabbit, some citcoms, Star Trek and a slew of other things. I haven't watched TV in ages, but these things on tape come in handy every now and again.
Is this true for anyone else? What are they?

Bluto was filthy rich. His son was a friggin' jerk.

Cartoon reruns not so much. Noticing what I've forgotten or never understood disturbs me. |

Got it
And for the main question: TV usually makes me get nervous, but there are some old cartoons and series that work for me. Fraggle Rock, those Gummy Bears show, oh oh and "The Young Ones".

I really enjoy watching movies with my children.
Our favorites are Spirited Away, The Triplets of Bellville, and the Dark Crystal.
We were recently given my parent's old VHS collection. Old bootlegs from as far back as 82-83?
I didn't realize it, but apparently I used to record my Saturday morning cartoons over my parent's movies. So, in the middle of "the Killing Fields," we suddenly find ourselves watching "Popeye and Son" or "Muppet Babies"
Like I was leaving little time capsules for myself.
