Posted - 08/22/2004 : 06:23:36 has anyone got this? i see references to a dvd... it was from japanese tv and i'd love to get a decent quality copy of the show as i was there. i certainly think this should have been on the 4ad dvd to showcase later-era pixies (it was a great show).
plus guy sitting near me at the forum a couple of nights ago seemed to be videoing the show so i wonder if that'll be available soon. |

Posted - 08/31/2004 : 10:40:35 The DVD-Rs are NTSC format, and it is my understanding they are "Region Free" and will play in virtually any computer drive or NTSC DVD player manufactured since the year 2000.
I hope this info helps.

Posted - 08/29/2004 : 18:57:39 I have 20 copies of the Brixton '91 show in great hi-fi stereo quality on DVD-R (not +R). I have resisted the urge to put any bonus material on these, so the show stands just as it was broadcast.
These discs were taken from a fairly pristine VHS dub taken directly from a VHS master recorded off-the-air in Japan in 1991.
While not flawless, it is by far, the best picture and sound I have ever seen for this show.
These discs are not for sale. I will only trade them for EXCELLENT quality Pixies or Frank Black audio or video on CD-R or DVD-R (not +R) which I do not already have in my collection.
I'll accept one DVD-R or 2 CD-Rs for each copy of the Brixton show.
The CD-Rs must NOT be sourced from MP3 files (such as those available off the old FB.net FTP site. They must come directly from audio files that have never been compressed, and ideally be burned disc-at-once without gaps between tracks.
If you have someting you think I'd enjoy, and you can use a copy of this great concert, send me your detailed lists via Private Message, and please include them in the body of your e-mail as opposed to in an attachment. my old iMac can't read most such enclosures.
I'm a very bad procrastinator, so I've gone ahead and burned these, and would love to finish all trades by the end of September.
Thanks, everybody! *

Posted - 08/22/2004 : 18:37:28 yes, if it's on dvd it's surely from the tape. but at least then we might find it on bittorrent or something. i've seen a few songs on soulseek but all from a poor generation video. i think jo said something on here once about the concert coming out on dvd separately, which would nicely offer a perspective on how good the pixies became live in the 90s... let's hope we hear something soon. |

Posted - 08/22/2004 : 16:26:08 If people have it on DVD it was most likely transfered from VHS format to DVD format.
Yes, I agree 4AD should make this available in DVD format lets hope Jo has good news soon.
