this morning i discovered a copy (of a copy, probably) of the pixies performance of "trompe le monde" from david letterman's nbc show. it's smack in the middle of a crazy mix tape i made more than ten years ago - right after a billie holiday tune.
i could digitize it, sweeten it up, and upload it to the ftp - if there are people still interested...?

Hey all! New to this great site but a long time FB/Pixies/Breeders fan.
This thread really caught my attention because I actually still have a recording of the Letterman appearance **ON VIDEO**!!
That's the good news.... now the bad news is that it was recorded on Beta Hi-Fi
(at the high quality BII speed if anyone remembers what that means) and my
old machine, while still working, is prone to eating tapes.
I'm going to have to get the VCR serviced before I chance playing this priceless recording
---well, priceless to me anyway {B^|)>
When that happens, I plan to capture it to the hard drive and make an MPG or AVI or something of it for upload here. Hopefully it will be soon, but right now my priority is affording a road trip or two to see this "warm-up" tour.

not a problem TBG, i organised it with speedy_m.
i've actually been listening to these a fair bit lately, and they are really fantastic versions and recordings.
you should all get a kick out of them.
also, is the Brixton show on the ftp at all?
i was just wondering since it was broadcast.....

update if anyone still cares.....i am going to email them to dean once he returns - not that he knows this yet though.
then he can upload them in all their glory.

well after actually listening to them, trompe le monde is not the best quality. it's certainly ok, but not excellant.
the other 3 are excellant however.

well i've got the mp3's ready to fire away to anyone who can take them - 4 files ~4MB each.
think i'll probly have to change the extension to .zip just incase work is watching, but thats all.

ah, so yours is also audio...
i assummed u were talking about video......
but yeah i could do that....i'll bring it into work tommorrow.
i've also got the audio from their 2 Dennis Miller appearances on the same cd if people are interested (Head On, Bird Dream Of The Olympus Mons & Planet Of Sound)
i'll have to email the mp3's to someone who can the upload them to the ftp cause i can't access it...
anyone free for that?

if benji's willing to make his version available, you'd all be better served - like i said, mine is a copy of a copy of a cassette recorded from a vhs tape.
if not, i'll get it all cooked up in the next couple of days.
