Notes:
This was a very special night, October 13th was the day that the 33 miners trapped in a San José Mine, were rescued, in fact the show started 5 minutes after that the last miner was rescued. Pixies wanted to celebrate that day and in honor to the 33 miners, they announced that they will play 33 songs, their longest setlist in their entire career. Black Francis made the introduction on spanish, a very rare situation because he never speaks in Pixies in a concert. Finally they played 35 songs in a magic night with one of the best setlist ever, that I had the lucky to record, and I´m very glad to share with you.
*Gigantic was aborted because a crazy guy climbed to an ilumination tower, and they stopped until the guards could put him in a safe place.
I hope that you enjoy my recording.

Posted - 10/15/2010 : 14:10:44 Wow, I think this is one of the better reunion shows I've heard -- they were really on form and the crowd was really into it! Thanks again.
EDIT: Ha! The crowd sings Joey's opening guitar line during Debaser -- the only other place I've ever heard that was at T in the Park (2004?), and it doesn't come across in any recordings even though it was really loud.

Posted - 09/18/2010 : 03:10:42 This sounds quite weird, this might be a result of the recording but I don't know precisely in which way, as I never heard something like this! Maybe on a 1996 show, the Hulsfred festival or something... I never knew if it was natural or not.
Anyway thanks for this uh err interesting experience... The sound is good despite that strange thing. |

Has anyone else heard this yet? Frank takes on an uncharacteristically nasal and youthful voice. He's almost unrecognizable at a couple spots in Horrible Day and a few others. Not at all similar to the 2006 performances I've heard before. |

Posted - 06/14/2010 : 21:02:19 sorry to rant and rave about this - but I'm personally not a real fan of torrents. Ever since they got introduced, they killed the true value and understanding of networking with other collectors to build a collection. Maybe I'm the only one here who feels this way. I know many people beg to differ (dimeadozen's member list speaks for itself), but I'll never go through the hassle of providing freebees online ever again - the hassle of recording the show and seeing the small amount of "thanks" (compared to the amount of people who downloaded the show and didn't thank) shows me that a lot of people who collect this stuff have lost touch. |

From what I can find, this has not previously circulated as either video or audio. The video will be shared here sometime soon-ish. The audio portion of this video is being circulated because the dvd transfer has been done using a DVD recorder, so therefore it does not have PCM audio. This audio transfer is lossless. Info: After I seeded a version of this show in December '09, Butterking got in contact with me, saying he had a transfer straight off the master if I was interested. I was. After sending it to me, I discovered that while it was definitely an upgrade in terms of sound quality, it was more incomplete than the 2 other circulating versions, although they all appear to originate from the same recording. The reason for this discrepency is a mystery. Anyways, for this torrent I have used the 2 higher gen versions to fill in the missing section of Debaser to make a complete concert. The filled sections are obvious, but I considered producing a complete version of this concert a priority. This tape was missing all but the first couple seconds of Debaser, and I had to use both the other circulating versions because the one which had Debaser in it's entirety was the poorest in quality. I also downsampled from 48kHz to 44kHz. There is a small edit before Wave Of Mutilation, where the taper stopped the recording during the encore break. No music is lost. The length of this version is 78:24, compared to the higher gen versions which run 79:26 and 81:27. Joey Santiago joins in from Cecilia Ann onwards for some great versions of Pixies tunes.
