Harrison used it for some of the sessions in the later years. Either White Album or Let it Be. He had a custom rosewood Tele, I believe.

What Beatles songs have a Tele? Octopus' Garden?

I'm the guy from wonderland...& you will never understand...

That said, I just yesterday ordered my PRS SE Soapbar for my first electric guitar. The other one in close contention (down to the wire, really) was a Tele Nashville Deluxe (a Telecaster with a third, Strat pickup in the middle position).

That Eastwood is a Mosrite Ventures-style copy (http://www.dpguitars.com/images/MosriteVentures.jpeg). I think that may be the one you were thinking of Kurt playing (although he may have owned Voxes too). His Mosrite Gospel was just up on eBay recently for like $115,000.

The Tele is incredibly versatile. Beatles, Stones, Clash, Alex Chilton, Pixies, Ted Leo, Guided by Voices, Olivia Tremor Control, Belle and Sebastian, Camper Van Beethoven, Mooney Suzuki, Bedhead and a bazillion roots, blues and country artists. Just try Googling your 10 favorite artists for live pics and see how many of them play Teles.

i play with a tele now and again (if its good enough for frank) and is a pretty reliable guitar. nice.
but when i saw the eastwood it reminded me of a guitar i saw kurt cobain playing and it made me smile (think his was a vox?). its a guitar i've always wanted to own while in my nirvana stage and still now it looks fun to play. i'd recommend this one but i dont know how it feels or sounds. good price though me thinks.

for me it would depend on what you wanted to play. if you after frankish style then maybe the tele.

sorry. i'm not much help. maybe someone else will pitch in with some ore sound advice
