is the standard series basically mexican?

standard series guitars seem to sell for about £300+ and those that specially say mexican go for about that too.

All of the Standard series are. Some of the "Deluxe" (e.g. the Nashville Tele for certain) are also Made in Mexico.

I was only trying to describe the difference between the Mexican ("Standard") and American ("American Standard") series. Guess I wasn't clear about it.

no no.

i asked if the standard series are the mexican models (thanks misleadtheworld, i thought so) not if the american series are. i know for a fact they are not the same, that would just be dumb.

I don't own one, but I've heard the biggest difference is in the hardware and pickups. I've also heard bad stories about the Mexican wiring. Plus the American gives you that extra fret if you reach that high.

I'm pretty sure the Standard *is* Mexican.

It's getting colder....
