i know that some of frank's songs have some different time sigs to the usual 4/4 or whatever. i'm not very good with time sigs and i barely understand them, but every so often i think i spot something weird and then i have to ask someone to see what they think and stuff. i thought i'd make this thread so i, and possibly others, can refer to this for help and advice or whatever.

so, what are some examples of odd time sigs in FB songs?

recently i've been listening to "i switched you". it probably has a pretty regular time sig but i dunno, it seems to go on a bit longer than i first expected it to before it repeats, during the verses. so, anything odd about that, or is it me just being a nob?

1826 - the beginning doesn't have a time signature. Then 5/4 for a while. Then 4/4 during the jam.

Abstract Plain - 4/4 in the intro. 6/4 when the verse starts, add a few beats every now and then. It's mostly 4/4.

Adda Lee - Mostly 4/4, but near the end when he sings "Adda Lee" it is 7/4. Following is a no time signature thing.

Alec Eiffel -Messes more with the group of beats. Like, the second half of the song where the guitars and vocals do their weird melody, it is a total of 22 beats grouped together, divided as 4/4 4/4 4/4 4/4 6/4.

Ana - groups five measures of 4/4, instead of the typical groups of 2's, 4's, 8's, 16's. Great chord changes and key change.

If each chord is a measure, "Parry the Wind" is in, i think, 3/4 time. Except the drums which are in 4/4.

The bridge of "I don't Want to Hurt You" is in 5/4.

"I want to live on an abstract Plain" is weird - the verse alternates between 6/4 (if each chord is made a half measure long) to 8/4, uh, I think ------ is it????

I would like to know about the time signature of "Los Angeles" (you know, the really weird part that comes right after Frank says the 'how come we say los angeleez' line).

I always thought I switched you was in some kind of 10/4 or something. Probably wrong though.

I know there are 10 beats before the main progression starts over.

I'd like to know this, too. Every time I think I understand time sigs, I find out I've still got it wrong.
