Hey. My band proudly uses a BR-8. We just purchased a 250MB zip drive this weekend to replace the 100MB, so that'll be an upgrade. However, I found information on the net regarding this wave converter thingy. It looks really cool, and an excellent way to do further work with our songs as well as a way to back everything up. But I clicked the link on whatever pages I was on and it went dead on me. Does Roland not support it anymore. Does it work? Where can I download it?! Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

Hell yeah! Thanks, man. I couldn't find it before. I shall now proceed with the converting!

Anybody else use the BR-8 often? We should do some compare/contrast sessions. That'd be neat. I'm sure I could be making more of the thing.

Cool..thanks, man

prozacrat.dmusic.com would be one. All but the song Jerome Bixby Part 1 on that page were done with the BR-8. We're going to be remixing/mastering all of the stuff yet. But that's a place to hear some of what we've done with the good ol' BR-8. Enjoy!

(P.S. think TMBG/Ween, not so much Pixies influence in these recordings. Well, maybe the song "Mike.")

What's a link to your band's mp3s.? I would like to hear the sounds a band can pull off with the BR-8.

We've been using our BR-8 for about three and ahalf or four and a half years. Can't exactly remember, but it's been a little while. I'll ask about the electrical problem when we get the 250MB put in. And the wave converter is real. I found several screen shots of it. Precise descriptions and whatnot. Seems infinately useful. If only it were still available. Orcs!!

I also upgraded my BR-8 to a 250mb drive. A year later, it's having electrical problems: it shuts off randomly and don't start sometimes. Related? It's only 2 years old.
The upgrade was easy, thanks to the internet info.

A wave converter thingy? I'm unclear on that.

Am I just going to have to call Roland and ask them about it? Nothing on the Net seems to work. I figured with all the love the BR-8 gets on this board somebody might know something, but I don't think this part of the forum gets hit too much. If I do find anything out, I'll let you know ProverbialCereal.

I'd be interested in this too... I have a BR-8. Good stuff.

Just quit a cult / going through withdrawal
