Posted - 07/23/2022 : 15:27:05 I can't seem to figure out how to play a B7 chord.
Does anyone have any advice for a strummer?
Thank you in advance
(Yes, I have googled it and watched YouTube videos and still doesn't seem to sound right. All B chords give me trouble). |

And hey there picpic, great to see you around the forum again!
Your B7 looks like finger yoga to me but I will give it a try. Proverbial's has helped me out quite a bit too. It's just so hard to switch from certain chords to other chords, as I'm sure some of you can remember from your amateur days on guitar.
Thanks again everyone for the help! |

Posted - 08/05/2022 : 09:10:25 Hey Bedbug, Proverbialcereal !
I either play my B7s like Proverbial showed, but also this way I don't know if it's a sin playing it that way. But it kinda sounds the same to my ears, and I find it easier to strum

Thank you Proverbial Cereal, for some reason that video made it easier. Sounds better I think.
What do you mean by mute the low E string?
As in don't play the low E string. Either don't pluck that string, or you can dampen / "mute" it by lightly touching it with your thumb or middle finger on left hand. That way you can do a full strum on all six strings and you won't hear the low E string. The root note of a B7 is a B note so playing the low E would make it a B7/E
Hope that helps

If you are playing a B7 on the 1st and 2nd frets make sure you mute the low E string |
