How many of you read music vs tab only? And how long have you been playing?

Just curious.. I'm new to both and trying to relearn myself how to sight read.

Good question.. I just started learning piano a couple of weeks ago. 'Jingle Bells' is my new favorite song - not by choice.

I've been playing for a couple of years. I've learned to read tabs from this site. Thanks to those who've taken the time to do it!

I use tab for guitar, but for most other things (bass, melody lines, etc) i'm proficient at reading both treble and bass clef (and with a little work, moveable C clef).

I played a lot of cello in my youth so I can read notes in the bass clef with ease.
I wish I was as fluent in reading the treble clef. It's hard to cover Captain Beefheart's a Red Rose that I Mean without knowing the treble clef.

I've been trained for reading music since I was a little one, but I work well with tabs too. I'm working on my ear training.

I just use tab and have no problem reading it. I might learn to read music though since I want to play the keyboard/piano. At the moment I've just learned all the chords and am learning stuff by ear.

I can read tab pretty well. I had a bash a understanding notation once, but found it too tricky.
