Posted - 06/26/2007 : 05:44:46 Hi, everyone. I'm new to the forum. I record cover songs for fun using guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, etc. I'm also a big Pixies fan. I saw them at Lollapalooza a couple years ago, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
I've recorded almost 50 covers now and most of them are of other indie bands you probably know.
Joanna Newsom, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sonic Youth, Morrissey, Beastie Boys, Prince, Wolf Parade, New Order, My Morning Jacket, The Smiths, Daniel Johnston, The Misfits, Cat Stevens, The Flaming Lips, U2, Wilco, Ryan Adams, The Strokes, Bright Eyes, Tom Waits, Tommy James and the Shondells, Raveonettes, Palace Music, The Damned, a-ha, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Velvet Underground, Bee Gees, Antony and the Johnsons, Half Japanese, The White Stripes, The Undertones, Beck, Talking Heads, Rolling Stones, Bjork, and Rage Against the Machine.
Everything is located at my main site here:

The production for "Monkey Gone to Heaven" isn't as tight as some of my other tracks, but it was the first time I didn't use direct input for my guitars. Also, it wasn't possible for me to create as full of a sound as the original on the chorus, because of my lacking a second singer. Still, I think some of you might be interested in hearing it.
Here's a direct link to the song:

Oh, this is random, but to give me some credibilty. I actually got Sune Rose Wagner, lead singer of the Raveonettes, to listen to my cover of his song "Uncertain Times" and he said he really like it a lot.
