That may be more correct. The piano is not playing the flat 9 (F), just the guitar. But since this is specifically a guitar transcription, it might be more correct to point that out, in which case you're right, it would be Edim7(b9).

I think you got the chords I'm referring to flipped around, mainly cause I screwed up. The Bbm6/Db is the one I was calling the C#dim, mainly because of the bass note.
But that was my bad, posting too late at night. Since it clearly has an F in it, it isn't the diminished chord. I should have called it the C#b5. Whoops-a-daisy.
The second chord is the one I called the Em6(b9) because whats being played is an E-G-C#-F. The presence of the F is extremely important, yet unaccounted for in your designation as an Edim7, which is, of course E-Bb-G-C# (as far as I know, there isn't a flatted 9 implied in Edim7). Your point about the lack of a B in the chord is valid, and the diminished E chord does sound correct as it moreso keeps with the general key of the song, but we'd still have to add in that flatted 9- so how about Edim7(b9)? |

I never went to no school or nothing about this, so I could be wrong but I think it is inaccurate to describe the second chord as a Edim7 since a diminished E chord should have a Bb somewhere in it.

Although more cumbersome, I think it might be more righter to call it an Em6(b9). As for the second chord, wouldn't it make more sense to just call it a C#dim since the bass note is a C#?
Also, in the intro, the ascending bassline seems pretty important with the d going up to the e then to the f. Perhaps eliminating the the A string during the C chord might sound better, as it means you'll use the e note on the D string for a bass note.

No problem. I just finished another tab. Woohoo. let me know how you all feel about the Dadd4 chord. There is definitely a D bass note, and it sounds like there is a G note within the guitar. At 1:39 it sounds like the right guitar is most definitely playing the Dadd4 chord or something very close to it.

yes. I've had trouble with a few chords in the past, and some chords I wasn't %100 positive on, but this has prooved the most difficult.
I am working on It's Just Not Your Moment bass line... well at least the intro bass line. |

I like Frank's version of Le Sicilenne. I can't say I've heard one arranged by Gabriel Faure, but the song is complex and tricky on guitar. It's no I, IV, V progression. It definitely isn't a "fun" song to play because it's difficult, but if anyone has the time I'd recommend trying to play it on guitar. It gets you playing chords you may not be used to; it would be a good finger exercise. If no one ever uses this tab I won't mind, because I'm glad I figured it out (with a little help). It took forever I'll admit. |

Derek, what do you think about Frank's version of Le Sicilienne? I think what Lyle (and now you) have done is something special, but I don't think the song itself could ever inspire me to play it. I would love to know your thoughts because you've spent some quality time with 'End of Summer'. |

F-C-D-Ab would be Fm6. I think your right about that one. Remember, it's Fm6/Ab. Actually, the guitar itself may not be playing an Ab, but the bass is, so I don't know if it's necessary to point that out or not. And yes, those chords you diagramed are indeed G7sus4 and G7. The G is missing, but once again, it's what I would call an "implied" G since there's a G in the vocal melody.

Thanks for all your input guys. But, I think I'm just gonna say the answer is "C". That is the default answer for a multiple choice question so I don't see why it wouldn't be for this...
Alright, I'm messing around with it right now in Adobe Premiere to see if I can isolate anything. I'm thinking the keyboards are adding in some extra notes that the guitar might not even be hitting. Stay tuned... I'm agreeing with the Gm6, but I'm not convince about the Cm/F yet. You all could be right though. |

Cm/F works for me, though I should play it at home before saying so. The 'A' is missing, but probably not a problem. And yeah, that should've been a Gm6 not 9, my bad. Should know better than to type upside-down.

Here's what we know for sure--the absolutely indisputable facts:
-There's an E in the second chord--the E right above middle C to be exact.
-There's a C in the first chord--middle C--which moves down to Bb in the second chord. This C can be clearly heard at exactly 1:38-39 into the song
-There's at least one G in both chords--the one right above middle C. This is the highest note in each chord.
-There is an Eb--the one right above middle C--in the first chord (which I missed in the above posts when I called this a Gm), which changes to an E in the second chord. (this is especially clear from 2:39-2:42)
-The bass guitar is playing an F for the first chord, and in the second one a G (for possibly the clearest example of this, listen from 2:39 to 2:42)
Now, no longer in the indisputable facts, I am very confident that the second piano chord is built in the right hand with the notes Bb-E-G, with a G and possibly other notes (it's not clear enough for me to distinguish) in the left hand.
I am very confident that the first chord is built in the right hand with the notes C-Eb-G, and in the left hand with an F and possibly some other notes.
It is possible that there is also a lower G in the right hand of each chord that I am not distinguishing, but I don't think so.
I therefore officially (unless there are any objections) declare the chords to be:
Cm/F and then Gm6 (without the D, which is not necessary to point out, since it's in the vocal melody and therefore an implied note in the chord, so to speak).
