i just got my first amp, its only a cheap one with gain, treble, bass and mid nobs. and a few volume ones, how can i get a good pixies setting for say were is my mind or debaser or anything else |

cheap is the way to go, no excuses like, oh i suck or i don't have a good guitar and my amp stinks.
use a tuner and play with guts. tape yourself, again with a CHEAP tape recorder and listen with cheap headphones. and when you can, play LOUD. and repeat . |

i know the amp set-up won't help you out much but the pedals maybe
and i'm not too sure about how accurate this is
but the boys behind it are guitar geeks so you never know

You'll need a guitar with singlecoils for the Black rhythm sound, a guitar with a bridge humbucker for the Santiago vibe.
Stick em all the dials (apart from volume) at 5 (pointing up). Less gain and mid for the FB sound (neck n bridge pickups selcted), more gain and mid for Joey (bridge bucker).
