Posted - 05/08/2005 : 12:41:34 Levitate Me has three distinguishable parts, BUT you gotta watch out for the changes in measure. He groups many things into three's, six's, and more. That's why I totally respect Frank Black... for being unpredictable. I would love to help him compose for that reason.
The basic idea is:
A E 00000000|00000000|00000000|44445555
A 222222222222|222222222222|222222222222|............33332222 E ..............................................................22222222
A ............33332222 E 00000000

Posted - 05/07/2005 : 17:29:40 How about..
(Muted bass, playing in 6/4 timing)
E 333355558888....over and over
or
A .............3333 E 33335555 over and over
or
A ......00003333 E 3333 over and over
(and then stick to the last C note for a while at the end)
my favorite part of the song is where the bass line at the 1:41 mark goes: E 333355557888 (GGGGAAAABCCC)
