Posted - 05/03/2005 : 11:27:31 I noticed on the ACL show that Joey adjusts his tuning before and after Tame, to what is anyones guess....

Posted - 04/21/2005 : 15:22:02 Similar to 'Into The White', Joey probably changes what he plays live to break routine and to spice things up a little. i mean, they've been playing these songs on and off for well over 10 years.
i've just tried tito's chord and it's now my fave. And tito, if you have any of the green stuff spare, mail me...we so dry |

Posted - 04/21/2005 : 14:14:48 After watching them on Austin City Limits, it seems as if he just plays the power chords (D G F) and bends like hell. Or just D power chord throughout the chorus bending a bunch.

Posted - 02/28/2005 : 15:57:38 I'm a guitar nerd, not a GENIUS!
Hahaha, I'm listening to a few older demos and bits n pieces of Tame to see if it's any easier to hear.. and its not really. There's definately a G# and a D# in the notes he's strangling out of the guitar, but it's hard to tell where or how. Might be picking right by the bridge, or possibly between the bridge and the tailpiece on his LP. I'll try and suss this one out tomorrow night..

Posted - 01/21/2005 : 04:51:13 What concert footage i've seen Joey definately plays something high up the fret board
It's a little like Into The White. You can kinda figure what he plays during the chorus via cd versions, and it sounds the same notes. when i saw them at Brixon, joey played the cool bit as random notes at random frets, making more of a noise than an exact sound. |

Posted - 01/21/2005 : 04:37:51 other suggestions have been that it's actually random strumming behind the guitar nut. sounds OK if really distorted. |

Posted - 01/20/2005 : 10:18:40 there's something in that tab that sounds right, Guinardo. it is THE biggest mystery, other than where was Frank born.
i'll seek out some other versions and give it another go. |

Posted - 01/20/2005 : 03:41:32 Nah it`s not working out for me. I don`t think that`s it. I`ve been guess something like this :
---11--- ---11--- ---14--- -------- -------- --------
But anyone`s guess is as good. I am so goddam frustrated by not having received my DiscLive copy yet (which apparently has great sound and could help solve this mystery). But that`s another thread.
Thanks all. Keep suggestions coming.

Posted - 01/17/2005 : 17:31:10 Just listened to Brixton June 4th and Death To The Pixies (remember when that came out? seems so long ago) and can pick out these notes. Think joey just plays as one chord. down strum like mad. I could be way off the mark mind:
e]---10--- b]----9----- g]----7----- d]----0----- a]----------- e]-----------
Give it a try. let me know if it sounds bad. |
