Shit!

I just broke my acoustic. It was just there, resting peacefully against my desk.
Suddenly, I heard that familiar sound of her sliding to the floor, and having been here before on so many occasions, I knew I had few precious seconds to turn round and break her fall.
But not this time. This time I just sat here and watched.
Why the fock did I do that? *CrAsH-BaNg-WhOllOP, the lot*

The headstock just snapped right off.

Anybody have any advice about how to fix this? Is it possible/worth it?
my local guitar shop isn't open until tomorrow so i thought I'd have a go.

just above the fret board I have a lttle piece of wood (sort of ^ shaped) which the headstock could be glued onto and some minor key hole surgery.
But I'm thinking, the tension of the strings when I'm tuning will snap it right back off again. How about drilling a rod between the two parts, like a spine, then gluing into place.

Any advice, please?

Oh, and it's my brother's semi-acoustic.

Oops!

Cool. I wish you success in repairing your loved one!

I'm putting new graphite saddles on my strat tonight. It also gets a new black pickguard and a "hardtail" conversion (i.e. a block of wood behind the trem assembly). I can't wait!

BLT, the site you gave me is amazing, the answer to all my guitar tech problems.

here's another photo, this is exactly what happened to mine.

Thanks for this.

whore (i feel bad calling you that), it happens. Most of the time they can hold up to anything.
Sometimes I have a domino rally involving 3 fenders and 2 acoustics.

newo, any help is appreciated. It's a few years old, and here's the make.
I'm from the school of chips and dents add character. I once saw an old mustang, scratched and chipped to hell, pretty old too, selling for well over £1000. You should see my jag. She's had it tough. But loves it really, the little minx.

and BLT, big shout out to you too. That site is where I'm off to next. See what they say.

Best go find me power tools in the garage. Gonna be a long night.
And only today was I reading about joey's guitar falling to it's death. Should have known it was a sign.

no way onion boy. where there's a will, there's a way.
even if i have to sellotape that bitch back on. it will play again. Eventually.

RIP--maybe you could burn her in the streets. Cheers.

Consult Frank Ford's awesome frets.com:
http://www.frets.com/FRETSPages/pagelist.html

It's a wealth of guitar info.

I´ll ask my brother, he builds basses. How old is the guitar? because the trick is to start abusing them early and they´ll stand up to anything.

Now I'll take more care of my guitars. They are always falling down.

And only one of them is mine.

The violet, the lily and the pink but those I refused all three
