Posted - 08/13/2004 : 07:33:58 This guy seems so well read, well traveled, intellectually driven and so sure of his unique creative vision. Even when seemingly stolified by loosing a few heartstrings he finds a way of eloquently expressing the inability to find words. He's someone almost completely different who writes what he feels with no contrivance or marketing formula. Only his music can describe his music.
"So that's what it sounds like." says it all.

Posted - 05/20/2004 : 12:30:30 It's probably the most revealing interview I've ever read with him. The decision to put the Pixies back together seems less contrived to me now. Maybe it really was just a natural progression in his mind to do this. His solo work has always had such an easy growth rate, the first record notwithstanding. |
