Posted - 04/09/2004 : 02:50:32 If you sign up at emusic.com, you can get 50 free downloads and then cancel your subscription without paying anything. Yes, you have to have a credit card, but it won't be billed as long as you cancel your trial subscription. They currently have Oddballs, FB&tC, Show Me Your Tears, Pistolero, Black Letter Days, Dog in the Sand, and Devil's Workshop. I downloaded 4 albums off this site and didn't have to pay a penny. |

Posted - 04/20/2004 : 06:47:38 emusic say they sometimes have to remove songs for technical reasons (problems with mp3 quality??)
I just started using the service (thanks to this thread) and have to say I thought it was excellent, this is the sort of thing which should give iTunes $0.99 downloads a run for there money!

Posted - 04/10/2004 : 01:26:31 Well, I could go out and pay cash for the CD, but it's also nice to get stuff for free, especially as a broke college student. Emusic.com uses these free downloads as an incentive to join their service. Frank will receive the same compensation per download that he would if i continued my subscription to the service. And he'll also receive a portion of the money which I paid for 13 of his regular CD's, all 15 of the live North American reunion CD's, and tickets to several of his shows this year. |

I remember this, you could download the album twice or something and after I downloaded it once I gave someone on the Plain my password so they could download it too.
