Posted - 02/04/2014 : 01:58:26 A retired colleague got this for me just because she saw Frank Black in it and knew I liked him. She warned me he wasn't in it much. Apparently if you were asked and or willing to create a song with Dave you were gonna get major face time in the documentary, I'm looking at you Rick Springfield, Lee Ving. Of course I wouldn't have minded seeing Dave and Charles come up with a song in the spur of the moment or even Rivers Cuomo for that matter. I still love me some Weezer. The documentary about the studio was sort of interesting but it was easy to figure out what was going to happen to the Neve Console by the end. Not that a documentary needs a plot twist. Dave's "interview" with Neve was funny.

Posted - 08/23/2013 : 09:55:30 i wat5ched this last night on tv and i found it very interesting. the last third was a bit less so, with it about them recording a new album, however, the stuff about sound city was pretty cool. would recommend it.
a few frank bits, with FB&TC's being recorded there. they played some of that album and showed some live footage from somewhere.
the most interesting frank bit was right at the end of the doc, there was a segment where dave was asking the people what their first band was called, and frank's answer was "the pixies." dave didn't believe frank, and was like, "the pixies, you're kidding right?" and made him repeat it a few times.
raises an interesting point though - how many people start out with such an amazing band as their first ever band? not very many I would have thought.
