This week we’re reporting to you from the legendary OASIS mastering suite in Los Angeles, where the complete Frank Black & the Catholics compilation is being remastered for it’s eventual release as a boxed set. Along with 80 tracks from the six formally released albums (self-titled [1998], Pistolero [1999], Dog in the Sand [2001], Black Letter Days [2002], Devil’s Workshop [2002] & Show Me Your Tears [2003]), the compilation will also include the once-released-digitally-but-hard-to-find tracks from Snake Oil & One More Road For The Hit, along with the elusive Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Groove Day recordings.
As of yet there is no release date, however the mastering will be completed this month and we’re hard at work on the artwork and packaging for all the various release formats. We intend to offer it up on CD, Vinyl, USB and a fully digital, downloadable version as well. We’re also drumming up some other goodies to be released in conjunction with the boxed set, so stay tuned, as there are more updates to come.
