Yesterday's (Sep 6) Sunday Times Magazine was a big Beatles special, one the articles featured pop stars talking about their favourite Beatles song, including FB! It's only a small little thing, but I thought it was worth posting. By the way, you can check out the rest of the Beatles stuff here.

Times Online - Which Beatles' tracks do today’s pop stars rate.

Everyone’s got a favourite, including Pixie Lott , Gary Numan, Tim Wheeler,
Frank Black, Kim Gordon and Kate Nash

You Know My Name (Look Up The Number) - Frank Black
(Pixies)

“The fact that the Pixies covered Wild Honey Pie sheds a little bit
of light on the obscure, quirkier tracks that get overlooked. They
have a lot of beauty and emotional strength in them, even if they
seem throwaway. That minimalism is something I appreciate. You
Know My Name… is an example of that. I love how it’s very British
in its humour — Americans would say Pythonesque. It’s also got
this soulful, Ray Charles-like walk, which I think is courtesy of
McCartney — the much-dissed Beatle. I love all the Beatles
equally, but I have to give two thumbs-up to Paul. He gets a lot of
criticism for being a little uptight, a little white, or too soft, but he’s
presented just as much of the tougher side of the Beatles as John.
Listen to Helter Skelter and tell me that Paul is the softie of the
band.”

Hmmm, yeah, for me It's All too Much, and moving
up the charts with a bullet is Savoy Truffle.

Please note, these opinions are subject to change.

Back in 2007, before his rendition of the Rockafeller Shank he distincly announced it as "You Know My Name Look Up the Number". Never understood why.

I can totally hear Frank screaming this one. Thanks, Carl!

I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.
