<<Volume 3 From KEXP
by Paul Cashmere - July 27 2007

Seattle's KEXP will release the third CD in their series of in-studio recordings next month.

'Live at KEXP Vol 3' will feature performances from The Shins, Frank Black, Hot Chip and Billy Bragg.

In a statement, Program Director Kevin Cole said "The goal of the Live at KEXP series is to represent the programming philosophy of KEXP and the broad array of music that we program. We bring listeners a diverse and eclectic mix of music from both new and old artists that we are proud to champion. Being an agent of musical discovery for listeners is a big part of KEXP's mission and we hope through Live at KEXP Volume 3 listeners find a new artist they will love."

The legendary (sorry KLOS) KEXP began in 1972 as a tiny 10-watt radio station. It has been a driving force in the Seattle area, especially through Seattle's musical growth spurt in the early 90s.

In 2006, the station hosted more than 400 in-studio performances.

KEXP's 'Live at KEXP Volume 3' will be released on August 21st.

maybe frankblack.net members should pool their resources and get a couple copies to share (if that is legal?)
