I'm in San Francisco early on wednesdays. I grabbed "The Examiner", its like "The Boston Herald" to "the Boston Globe". "The Examiner" to the "San Francisco Chronicle". If you don't get that analogy Its like a smaller easy read type paper compared to the Chronicle. Anyways the front Page of the Examiner says "Black is Back, Raw as Ever."
The article starts:
"Still Raw after all these years,
Pixies Frank Black continues to chase
haunting primal sound of Rock n' Roll"
The article is great I'll print it later (tommorow). Hopefully the front page will rouse some folks and the venue will fill up. I know I'm bringing like 15 people. Can't wait!

I agree - awesome show, and a fun band to watch (well EDF could learn to do some karate kicks or spins or something).
"I'll Be Blue" was one of the best things I've seen live in a long long time.

Yes, it was neat to see that article, especially touted at the top of the front page, and in a conservative SF paper no less. Didn't even notice the mention when I picked up the paper but then discovered it while reading over lunch.
