Thanks Jon for straightening out the mis-information.

Again I hope the FASTMAN.RAIDERMAN excluded tracks [I DON'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE & NEEDLE...] make a CD appearance somewhere down the line.

I can live without that song I must admit
nice song but I think Frank's originals are better

Another question for Jon T maybe:
In The "schwarma" thread the interviewer mentions NEEDLE IN MY ARM [aka BEEN ALL AROUND THE WORLD] as one of the FASTMAN-RAIDERMAN tracks. While this song is a Honeycomb out-take, I was under the impression this song has since been reserved for PIXIES use. Has that situation changed? Will it maybe be on FASTMAN... ?

Thanks again for any info Jon.

Confirmed. Lyle's on about half of the two-disc set, and he not only played guitar, he is the arranger on the sessions as well.

He's writing with Sting now, so I hear.

Jon Tiven
Next to a new cd from THE MAN, this is the best news I've heard! Can't get enough of Lyle. Thanks so much, Jon!!!

No, none are available yet. Plan-A for release is 20th June. Subject to change I imagine.

Carl is, without a doubt, fb.net's comedic genius!!!

small suggestion, nobody wears those sissy looking crowns here in Guitar Town. Get that shit off his head, and give The Man a proper Cowboy Hat and some snake-skin cowboy boots...a rhinestone jacket and H-Bar-C Shirt would be an authentic touch as well...just a suggestion...

If Oddballs is really so hard to find now that's a crime, Jumping Beans is one of the finest songs I've heard. Has the man's voice ever sounded more like Lou Reed?

When did Oddballs go out of print, anyway? I got a copy about three and a half years ago with no trouble.

Nothing is ever something.

If my maths is correct: there are 27 new BMI listings [so far] plus No.28 DIRTY OLD TOWN, a cover.
If FASTMAN-RAIDERMAN is supposedly 27-tracks total, which one misses out?

Or have I got this all wrong?

I thought MAN OF STEEL was produced by Nick Vincent - post Cult of Ray.
Anyway another FB/EDF collaboration would be amazing.

Yeah. Imagine what would have been a follow up to TOTY begining by the two Feldman produced tracks:
Jumping Beans
Man of Steel

Wow, thanks a lot, Froggy, I never heard that before. I have The Kitchen Tapes version with Joey on vinyl (somebody posted that here before, I believe, or at least it sounds like it, I haven't listened to any of my vinyl records in a good few years), and an acoustic version from Rev 105 Radio which was posted before. Thanks again!

Well, I didn't want to bother everybody with my obsession on that song. If there IS a studio full band version, no worry, I just got to find "Oddballs", the phantom album. It's just strange that song appeared on it without being a b-side.
Ziggy Posted - 02/06/2006 : 05:37:52
The solo acoustic version takes some beating.
billgoodman Posted - 02/06/2006 : 01:18:38
A bit, it certainly rocks, but if it's real rock?
Don't know, I always thought it was one of the tracks
you can hear Frank moving from his old style on TOTY to DITS

Well, I've never seen the disc Oddballs anywhere, but I didn't care as I had all the b sides on the different singles.
I know a live version and an accoustic version of the song jumping beans. Not a real rock version with Lyle Workman doing his amazing solo.
I the version on Oddballs of that kind?
1965 Posted - 02/05/2006 : 15:47:15
I assume you mean JUMPING BEANS ?
