Hello everybody, I'm Idar How you all doing? I'm very good,. I've been a long time reader here and have found a LOT of interesting stuffff...Finally, maybe I can give something back!
There is an interesting little Pixies feature from Norwegian TV that's available on the net. The interesting part is the middle segment when we get to see inside Frank and the C's LA studio.
The lucky girl who gets to travel to see them is, understandably, quite nervous soooo she asks them pretty lame questions.. Nevermind, Frank is funny and Rich is wearing a pokemon t-shirt and talks on life beeing hard..
OK, how do you get to see this? You have to go to a Norwegian website..
..Never worry, here are some instructions
First, go to www.nrk.no
On the top of the page is prob. some advertising, and the header with the NRK logo. Beside the header, scroll down the far right bar that says NRK NETT-TV,choose TV and wait.. It will open another window with an alphabetical list of tv-shows. Scroll down to L and click on "Lydverket"
This brings up a list of document icons, click on 'Sendinger'
and scroll down to 'Lydverket 15.10.03', expand it and there's a 'Pixies'
link there. Now, when you click on it they ask for a 'brukernavn'
and a 'passord' -guess what that means..
Put 'blaaser' as your username and '234411' as your password
I could create other accounts for you, but haven't the time.., I'm
not using this account much, so feel free to use it as much as y'like
Hope it works out, and remember to log out after viewing so maybe someone else can check it out!

So it is an error! I'm not surprised, I don't see why it would have been released later in the Scandanavian region!! :) |

I can't remember exactly which year... I cant recall now, but wasn't both albums released in 2002?... It's just an error from the TV staff of "Lydverket", bah-- they didn't seem to care that much for Frank, just the usual Pixies myths etc..
Ah, the autumn when those two albums came out..It was so good to be...rocking in my car.. It became the soundtrack to my favourite season.

Thanks a lot crack city jones and Llamadance! This is a fantastic document! I always wondered how the Catholics studio was! Watching the video, it’s also funny how Frank grabs a tape and says something like: "This is Frank Black and the Catholics. January, 16. Mono." Hey, they recorded that stuff on my 26th birthday! I know it can be odd for you, but I was thrilled to bits hearing that part of the video! Frank Black is God! |

I used a combination of Firefox, the flashgot and mediaconnectivity extensions and a program called NetTransport. Don't think you need all of these actually.

got the time and figured it out. The FB part is on the link below, it's 13MB and just over 6 mins long. It should work on Winamp or Windows media player. Let me know here if there's any problems. I think the link is good for 7 days or 25 downloads.

Very generous if you could do that! I have a relatively slow private connection, as I think many still have, and would really like to see this "studio tour" a little clearer and free of hick-ups...
about the Pixies stuff.. think it's unnescesarry..it's in Norwegian about 1% of the global population understands it, and just contains clips from the 'Pixies' DVD (uugh, Bono... )
Is there a Pixies site like the Dino Jr/ J Mascis www.freesofree.net that one can post Pixes bootlegs and stuff on? If not, the only thing I know of is Soulseek..

I think I may be able to download and split the file. The whole program is about 90MB, so the Pixies/Frank section will be about a quarter of that. Do you want me to just edit it to the Frank section and cut out the Pixies stuff. or leave the whole article intact.
Can't say how good the editing will be though :D
