In its Summer Music special issue, US magazine Entertainment
Weekly has this to say about HC:
"Kid comes into town. Works with cats who don't know who he is.
They lay down some hot ones." That's how the Pixie describes his
"spiritual" four-day stint playing with some of Nashville's most
celebrated session vets. Honeycomb serves a slice of Americana
that recalls a certain legend's own fruitful jaunts through Tennessee.
"The producer pushed for Black on Blonde as the title," says Black.
"I thought it was too cute."
MOST LIKELY TO ... prove that Black's got some backwoods
boogie (JULY 19).
Also in that issue, under Concerts:
Pixies
They performed their "12 final shows" last fall, but Frank Black & Co.
are back (liars!). Not that we mind, especially with guest like Interpol and
LCD Soundsystem. Black reports his Pixies are getting along well now
that they're back together -- much like another formely feuding group.
"We kind of feel like we're in Fleetwood Mac's VH1 era," says Black.
"We're beyond drama." (5/25 - 7-23)

Perhaps he ment that the reunion process is now over and they are a band again, but well who knows... |
