Pixies man to release retrospective

Frank Black also announces one-off gig

Pixies frontman Frank Black is set to release a 22 track retrospective 'Frank Black 93-03' on June 4.

He is also set to play a one off gig in London on July 15.

Speaking about the best of Black said: "There is totally a narrative arc to my solo career...it's me breaking away from the Pixies and finding myself as a solo artist.

"I didn't get into this to have hits. I did it to be a maverick, to be underground, to be part of that world as opposed to the Top 40 world. I wanted to be an artist and a musician, not to get invited to parties. It's about being true to yourself."

The album will be issued on a two disc version, containing tracks recorded live in the US between September and November of last year, on June 12 in the US only.

The tracklisting is:

'Los Angeles'
'Ten Percenter'
'Czar'
'Old Black Dawning'
'I Want To Live On An Abstract Plain'
'Calistan'
'Speedy Marie'
'Headache'
'Freedom Rocks'
'Men In Black'
'You Ain't Me'
'I Don't Want To Hurt You'
'All My Ghosts'
'I Gotta Move'
'Bad Harmony'
'Western Star'
'Robert Onion'
'Hermaphroditos'
'Velvety'
'California Bound'
'Massif Centrale'
'Manitoba'

Black is also set to play a one off London gig at the Shepherds Bush Empire on July 15.

I first heard the Pixies through Fight Club and then made the natural progression to buying FB albums, so yeah, I suppose I am a 'Fight Club FB fan'.

Sometimes I'm at a one-off gig, and I wonder: Is that young fan next to me a "Fight Club" FB fan? And sometimes I wonder: Are pixiestu and PixieSteve "Fight Club" FB fans?

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

'Guy who wrote the song at the end of Fight Club releases retrospective!'

by "one off" do they mean it is a best of "one off" gig, or one off gig in UK?

It would be lamer if it would have been
''Guest on David Bowie's 50th birthday-man'', Cohen!
But I can see what you are driving at.

How do we get tickets for the show?

Do we know what the live tracks are? Hopefully live full band Dead Man's Curve.
