Posted - 08/30/2010 : 01:22:12 Ruzom - whats your poison. I'm buying. Thank you very much for this. Well done. I tried watching this through the stream and dissapointedly gave up due to the horrific jumpiness.
My hat is off in your honour. |

Posted - 08/29/2010 : 23:08:50 Thanks ruzom for uploading the video. Working fine, nicely shot, good sound. The audio controls in km player let you improve the sound considerably too. 800mb but definitely worth downloading. This 3 man setup is real nice.

Posted - 08/29/2010 : 12:30:57 So...
Actually I discovered yesterday during the evening that this trouble we had was more than probably due to the fact the original file is something like 840mb/mo, so putting it on streaming directly through the server of their website must be quite demanding for any computer, even mine(it's not so old at all).
So err, I'm a bit ashamed to write that but I eventually managed to download the original file from the server and uploaded it on MegaUpload - I didn't know another place for a 800mb+ file - so at least for the moment it can be downloaded to be viewed correctly. I watched it with The KM Player and it works just fine.
Of course thumbs up to Ryan and Sylvia for recording that, really, thanks a lot to them, I appreciate what they did so I hope they wouldn't mind me doing this, I did not ask the permission as obviously what I've done was with the same intention than theirs, to bring this live recording mostly to the fans, but I must say that till we find another possible solution it would be better if this stayed on the FB.net community.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B9ZUI734 (if the file is declared as unavailable, try again as it happened to me a couple of times when I made the test but it eventually worked)
I watched this yesterday evening with a friend(couldn't post about my discovery before, and was waiting to be sure it works with the original file in a standard player anyway), and I must say I found this pretty great, probably my favorite band configuration for a long while(though I couldn't give a complete listen to the official Nijmegen recording that must be really awesome, judging by the little I've heard of from this).
All in all it's a bit short but really good in my opinion, as well as very interesting as it gives a different rendition of some very well known songs for us!
Sorry for the long post, I wanted my intentions to be made perfectly clear to everyone. If there's any trouble, I'll remove the link, well me or anyone with that power here if they feel this was not a good idea. |

Posted - 08/22/2010 : 11:13:47 It feels like in some way he tried to make exist live the Frank Black Francis version... might seem obvious to some readers, but I wonder if anyone apart from me noticed that... |

Posted - 08/21/2010 : 10:15:55 Opening act: Cobirds – acoustic duo with Rachel Flotard and Rusty Willoughby. They were very nice, a kind of a Damien Rice-like 4-piece.
Nice BF sets, somewhat similar. The venue is a sit-down dinner theatre, replete with clinking glasses and clattering silverware on plates. During the 2nd show's opening act there was even a crash of broken dishes.
BF in a swell, gabby mood. Opened the 7pm show on his own, then brought out EDF for 666, then the drummer/driver. For the 10pm show they all came out at once. No encores as the venue rushed folks out at 9:30 so they could set the tables for 10pm.
The "remix" version of Planet of Sound is quite interesting. BF and co. seemed to be channeling the Catholics -- at least on this stage -- with the narrow spotlights, minimal but cavernous drums, crisp bass. They certainly looked and played like a bar band; it was like that strobe bar scene from Fire Walk With Me, just with a smoke machine replacing the cigarettes. Good crowd for both shows, though the 7pm had about 1/3 less audience.
Great acoustics in there. Terrible, bad, bad digital recorder.
