Hey folks,

Saw Charles at the Walnut Room in downtown Denver Wednesday night. It. . . was. . . astonishing! Best Frank show my friends and I have ever seen. He was in a great mood, very talkative, smiling, drinking champagne. He played Telecasters all night. The show was just about two hours long, with no encore even though the crowd was out of their minds excited. At the request of management, he played a second "secret" show at the Walnut on Thursday as well. They announced tickets just before the Wednesday show started. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it.

Here's the setlist, although the order is significantly jumbled:

1. Two Reelers
2. I Burn Today
3. I Heard Ramona Sing
4. She Took All The Money
5. Calistan
6. Los Angeles
7. Massif Centrale
8. Velouria
9. The Water
10. Holiday Song
11. Nimrod's Son
12. Where Is My Mind
13. All Around The World
14. Lolita
15. Horrible Day
16. Song of the Shrimp
17. Sing For Joy
18. Robert Onion
19. Headache
20. Angels Come To Comfort You
21. Cactus
22. When They Come To Murder Me
23. Mr. Grieves
24. Burnt Out Rock n' Roll

He goofed up Two Reelers on the first try, then came back to it and nailed it. Highlights for me were that song, Calistan, Robert Onion and Angels Come To Comfort You. Sing For Joy was so good I have to admit there was no way to stop my tears.

I took pics and videos. I'll let you know when I put them on the internet.
