Posted - 05/12/2009 : 12:20:12 I was lucky enough to see Frank in Dublin on his last your, and I came across the photos from the precore http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=black%20francis&w=70143960%40N00
Absolutely crazy! I can see myeslf right next to Frank though :)
I was wondering if he got a similar reception anywhere else or what the precores were like? After Dublin, I didn't pay too much attention as I knew the set wasn't gonna change much. Surely the streets weren't mobbed everywhere he went, were they?! |

Posted - 05/13/2009 : 00:16:41 Ha, that's fantastic, people were standing on the roof of the bar!
^ That for me is the best shot, like it's so all encompassing! You can imagine my delight that after we were all forced out of the park (where the pre-core was supposed to happen at a band stand) I turned around to see Frank Black literally right in front of me, quite surreal! (sorry they're so small) |

Posted - 05/12/2009 : 13:07:41 A phenomenal precore! Post a pic of the crowd. Get some visuals in here. I saw him in Manchester at Big Hands Bar
Some were watching from the roof of Big Hands. I should have got up there.
Big red buses drove past unaware. We should have all sang along but we stood in respect with smiles on our faces, like you do. The man who wrote Break My Body, Letter to Memphis, Fiddle Riddle, Pong and Violet*, was standing just there right in front of us with his acoustic. It doesn't get any better than that. The girl next to the 'A' top centre of the pic is holding my phone. We stood behind Jason Carter.
