This is a bit bigger than your average Frank pre-gig chat, so I've pasted it up here. |

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 14:56:03 Yes, Friday's show was amazing. We brought our 8 year old daughter (with very well insulated eardrums of course) to the show. She was so excited and is also an avid, albeit very young, FBF fan. FBF rocked and Violet was amazing. She really brings her own unique sound to the songs and her presence and vocal abilities just add so much to the experience. I only wish I had the ways and means to make it to the rest of the shows on the tour. I can't wait until they play Portland or Eugene again.
Also, thanks andypdx, for the great videos! |

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 11:30:02 I really like the Bluefinger songs delivered this way. Essentially it's the same setup as the Euro tour, but they just seem to sound a lot better this way. Can't put a finger on it. |

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 10:29:19 It truly was a great show. Some observations: BFs cold was still dragging on him, but he gave the show some great energy all the same, really enjoyed the chatty between songs banter- made it feel like you were really sharing the small room with him, the crowd was- with the exception of two extremely drunk and obnoxious people in the back left- very good and respectful of eachother, loved Motorway, Tight Black Rubber, Captain, Threshold, OK, pretty much all of it. It did take a second for him to break through his cold at the very beginning and find his voice- but once it was there you could hardly tell. If anyone was close enough to the stage to see what knd of pedal(s) the man was playing through I would give a left testacle to figure out how he gets that tone through a tele and and a Vox amp! |

This was a small handheld digital camcorder recording at 640x480...so yeah putting a DVD together shouldn't be that hard. I'll make another post when the torrent is ready. |

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 01:12:15 Friday night in Eugene was an INCREDIBLE show! Probably one of the top three FBF shows I've ever seen! Francis was in top form and really sung his ass off! He started with a few non-Bluefinger songs like the earlier shows, but opted for the electric guitar instead of the acoustic while playing these. He was also extremely talkative with lots of banter between, and even during songs (See Gyaneshwar and Mr Greives below to see what I'm talking about!)
For those of you not lucky enough to attend, I've uploaded most of the show to youtube..

Posted - 08/16/2007 : 23:39:49 you have a few different questions in there, shineoftheever. I'll do my best...
how far is portland from hood river? about one hour*
what's the realistic driving time on a friday long week-end seattle to portland? about three hours*
how long would it take to get from the airport to the venue if i arrived on at say 6:30pm if you mean the Portland airport, the trip to Eugene should be about two hours*
* each of these three routes can be very busy during rush hour, for example on Friday afternoon (3pm-7pm) and weekday mornings (7am-9am). Portland is not a huge city, but these highwayS can get congested.
hope this helps a bit. happy to offer more help if you're making this trip. (have extended the same to coastline.) |
