O.K. Sorry I didn't post earlier but I had hoped someone would have posted a full setlist......I didn't keep one so mine is not in order or complete.

due to traffic we were running into the show at 7:20....the show started at 7:15 and they're pretty timely at the Greek. Running up I heard 'Horrible Day' in the air and was unsure if it was blaring from a car. It wasn't blaring from a car it was the show. Usually I could have asked someone what the first songs were but people weren't there to see FB. The crowd was low energy but there were a bunch of people there and FB and his band got the to pay attention by the end. so here's my shoddy setlist that has holes and out of order.....For the most part its in order.

'Horrible Day'
'I burn Today'
'Johnny Barleycorn'

I'm unsure what the song after Johnny Barleycorn was but it had a chorus that went something like "See me at 5938" ???? some words that I completely recall that weren't part of the chorus went "Looking Back all I did was look away".....it could have been a cover.

'666'
'Nadine'
'I'm not Dead I'm in Pittsburgh'
'Raiderman'

The 'Reversed it' song ????

'Dead Man's Curve'
'Suffering'

Also I'm unsure if it was the mix I made for my friend who was unfamiliar with FB solo work. I included 'Whispering Weeds'.........I'm thinking he might have played it?????

Anyway I really enjoyed hearing the music played live WITH A BAND. I thought they sounded great and they were all ,seemingly from a distance, having a great time......Duane Jarvis was looking like he was having fun playing a solid guitar and backing up vocals very nicely, Billy Block was having a blast too, he sounded great and looked like a Fraggle with all his white hair bobbing to the Beat...Eric Drew Feldman also looked as if he was enjoying himself ....The Man (FB) , I thought really brought energy to the performance, I told my friend who is an old pixies fan but really didn't follow his solo career that he yells a lot less, so don't expect Black Francis, but he turned to me and said 'he's doin some screamin''....and he was, I think he was excited to have a band behind him.......I thought if that had been a Frank Black crowd the show would have been better....there's just something about crowd interaction....it changes everything.....can't wait to hear the band at a FB crowd show......He really got the Tom Petty crowd a little interested by the end. Actually some one came up to us when we were walking at the top of the ampitheatre , asked for a lite or something and we were just small-talking....He told me he was converted , or really impressed by FB....I told him he's pretty much the reason I came and he should check out his new album.....but the point is he impressed someone who really didn't know who he was....

Anyway if someone could help figure out the song after 'Johnny Barleycorn I described above...that would be great
Sorry for the setlist kind of in shambles......I figured you'd like to see something

Ahhh "Bursting ever bursting," you are a lucky man for getting to hear Living on Soul.

This'll help you sort out the lyrics:

like I said above, it sounds like that song is "Remake/Remodel"

-Mickey

Ummm....Thank-you for helping, yes you're right, one of those songs was Remake /Remodel but the song I was wondering about and referring to in this post was a song which I dubbed "the 'reversed it' song". I dubbed it the " 'reversed it' song" because it sounded like he was saying "reversed it" over and over again in the chorus (sounded like that to me anyway) is a song called "Living on Soul" from the iTunes release named "One More Road For The Hit".......Listen to it you'll know where I'm coming from.........so, yes, he played Remake/Remodel that night AND he played a song called 'Living on Soul' which I dubbed "the 'reversed it' song"...........I'm still adding to my setlist (get myself together already)

I guess I may join the band as keyboardist while they're here in Saskatoon then. Y'know, just to fill out the sound...

I'd better start working on my Calistan/I'll Be Blue. Ha! I wish.

"Now you're officially my woman. Kudos. I can't say I don't envy you."

Hello all,

Got the full setlist for 9/29/06 here.

Calistan (my favorite!)
Bullet
I'll Be Blue
Horrible Day
Sing for Joy
I'm Not Dead, I'm in Pittsburg
I Burn Today
Six Sixty Six
Johnny Barleycorn
Remake / Remodel
Living on Soul
Raiderman
Nadine
I've Been Suffering
Dead Man's Curve

Rad show. I should say that the Tom Petty fans there kind of sucked. Lots of loud, drunken jerks.
I loved how Oddballs and the new album got some representation.

For those of you that listen to the podcast and were wondering if Eric Drew Feldman got to play keyboards, that would be a "nope, just bass".

Overall, definitely worth flying up to SF to see the show!

The Berkeley Greek is a great venue, at least if the weather's decent. Nice to be able to freely herbalize too.

Somnambulist, you make good points about the promotion angle. Fastman would have been a good one. I like Tom Petty. He's one of few from the old school to consistently put good stuff on pop radio. Runnin' Down a Dream is an all-time fave.

sounds like it was a good show

at least that's what your mom said

I can add at least one song to the list... "Living on Soul".

I was sitting in the grass dead center way above the stage. Frank looked really cool and the sound wass better than any large venue I've even been to.

It was cool to see "Nadine" live. I wish he had played a few more songs that would win over a Tom Petty crowd. "Panamerican Highway" would have done it. "Fastman" would have been a good choice too. You know, I admire the fact that Frank is humble, plays his songs, and gets off the stage, but if he would have talked a little and promoted himself it would have been great. Tom Petty did a lot of that and the crowd loved it. Of course they were there to see Tom Petty but they seemed like a very open-minded crowd (you could smell it in the air ) and would have enjoyed it. When I spoke to people around me and told them who they were listening to they payed closer attention. I don't think Frank realizes how much of a rock legend he really is. Everyone knows who the Pixies are and his solo stuff is very accessible; especially these days.

Anyway, great show!

I will definitely be going back to the Greek!

Are you going down where the ballyhoos and tritons are?

sounds like that song was "Remake/Remodel" which is a Roxy Music song that Frank covers. I'm really kicking myself for not going to that show. Did Frank join the heartbreakers on stage?
