I like what I've heard of Jarvis' playing from the various vids lying around.

I know it's not right to look back to the past, but I guess we didn't realize how good we had it when the catholics were around. The lead guitar was uninspired at best, and although Feldman's bass tone was killer, it somehow didn't fit with Frank's (ever mutating) style. For example, Bullet, which is an amazing song, and one would figure that it is pretty much impossible to fuck up, was completely flat and dead. There were sucessful ventures (living on soul rocked!) but for the most part, the band didn't click. But for my money (almost 45 US dollars), Frank is a sure bet and does indeed deliver the goods. Bottom line - I think I'm gonna prep my resume for the next tour.

The greatest rocker ever, yes, and honesty as a bad thing, yes. The Catholics were the real deal but my yesterday's audition of the Atlanta recording says Jarvis is a man of the Santiago-Workman-Gilbert vein. Frank knows how to pick 'em and the Feldman smiles. Sure bet, yes.

yeah, I'm with you on the 'don't know what you got til it's gone' feeling regarding the Catholics...it felt like there was a little bit of punch or pinache missing, especially from the heavier numbers, last night.

regardless, they had me smiling and bobbing my head for the whole set, a great time. Terrible Ways is one of my favorite FMRM songs, also one of my highlights from last night's set, his voice was REALLY on it, his falsetto is in such great shape, really pulls the heartstrings. I almost welled up during the acoustic Velouria...that was almost a "well, now I can die" kind of moment.

you can feel the magic in the air

Get EDF off the bass an onto the keyboard. That's what he wants to be playing. That'd bring back the magic.

In life there are good concerts and there are bad concerts.

My hung over friend gave me that intro. Catchy, huh? I pitch Frank by saying that he always delivers the goods, and undoubtedly, he does. Frank was indeed in a great frame of rock mind and he praised Toronto as one of his favourite cities, and bless his soul for saying so. Toronto loves ya and we're glad the feeling is mutual.

So when do I cut the crap and get to business. Now! The set opened up with the now standard acousitic set with black rider as the first track - nice job. He played each and every song different from the album versions which was pretty cool. But I'll skip the play by play and get to the overall impression.

Almost exact same sequence as the Montreal show. How was the crowd? What's the most rocking song of the night?

Has anyone heard or any in-store special appearances or otherwise? I'm taking the day off to hang in Toronto and can think of no better way to spend the afternoon.

So, I bought 4 tickets to the show on thursday. As of yet I can't find anyone interested in taking the 4th which is crazy talk. So if i can't find someone i would gladly offer it to someone on here.
