Posted - 08/14/2006 : 13:22:00 So what songs are you dying to hear ?
I used to absolutely love hearing all the really old songs, but now I've got wish list that's really heavy on songs from the last 5 or so years.
I've never heard "the snake" live, and I have visions of that song just being awesome live. I've been listening to Tears a lot, I should pick up the new one today, and then start listening to the last 3-4 albums again. ugh so excited for this tour. |

Posted - 08/24/2006 : 21:46:15 I don't really have too many specific songs I really want to hear other than "If It Takes All Night," but I hope that the new band approaches some Pixies stuff. I would like to hear some of the old numbers arranged the way FMRM is. Other than that, I just hope the material spans his whole carreer somewhat evenly and doesn't ephesize the new stuff TOO much.

Posted - 08/24/2006 : 08:52:27 If I could hear Cult of Ray the song, which I've never heard him play live, I'd be a real happy guy.
And Man of Steel, which I've heard a few times, but is always amazing in concert. |

Motorway To Roswell, Bird Dream and Trompe Le Monde would be bonus.
If he's gotta do Pixies stuff I would have to say: Velouria, Motorway, and maybe Palace of the brine or Caribou
I love Trompe Le Monde, but don't know if I'd enjoy it as much without Kim backing vocals, not to mention Joey on guitar (the solo toward the end of the song is absolutely haunting). |

Posted - 08/20/2006 : 12:47:50 I think the setlists he's been doing solo recently are as cool as anything. I'm honestly hoping the FM/RM quotient does not increase, but, I'm kinda thinking it will with the band... |

Posted - 08/18/2006 : 20:55:57 I'm also hoping for a lot more FMRM stuff than we've seen on the set lists so far. The only other tune I'd really love to hear that he hasn't played yet is Dog Gone (OK, and Solid Gold).

Posted - 08/18/2006 : 20:16:55 Not to be a downer on the wish lists, but given the paucity of FMRM stuff on the solo acoustic tour, I can't be the only one thinking the fall band tour is gonna feature a decent dose of the new stuff, right?

hopefully some real wild shit.
I just don't see Chuck asking the Nashville fellas to learn much of his real nasty stuff. Maybe if Buckethead was touring with him... |

Posted - 08/17/2006 : 19:49:32 Just to make a point about the pointlessness of my last gargantuan wish(set)list (seven posts up) I thought I'd do another one that'd be different but just as cool to witness. Suffice it to say, there are still favourites missing...

Posted - 08/17/2006 : 15:27:58 First time poster. Does anyone know if he is touring with a full ensemble (piano, harpsichord, various guitars incl pedal steel, accoustic, electric, banjo, et al)? So many of his songs are great, but there are a selection, such as Bullet, Chipaway Boy, and St. Francis Damn Disaster that are beyond great because of the various progressions of sound from the beginning through the chorus. Take Chipaway Boy. To hear it from the beginning, with a saloon piano churning out a sympathetic chord pattern, joined like a cayote in the moonlight by a gently amped steel string, and then hear the interuption of the electric, and accoustic and bass pull it down into an avalanche where it gets ridden into the ground by a stagecoach of a drum beat, pressing faster that little piano melody - well that's just perfect. Same with Bullet. I used to listen to it with my headphones on and count the instruments as they joined in. I think I counted 7. So if he brings the band, i hope he brings the whole shootin' match. Otherwise, I'll catch him solo. |

Posted - 08/16/2006 : 18:09:48 I've never seen Frank solo so my wish list is a bit on the long side. Just thinking about it took hours. In fact I thought it was so much fun I even sequenced it to resemble a setlist, albeit a behemoth.
1. The Black Rider 2. The Snake 3. Johnny Barleycorn 4. Freedom Rock 5. If Your Poison Gets You 6. Village Of The Sun 7. Wahtever Happened To Pong? 8. Thalassocracy 9. His Kingly Cave 10. Parry The Wind High, Low / 11. I Want Rock’n’Roll 12. All My Ghosts 13. Men In Black 14. Western Star 15. Massif Centrale 16. Robert Onion 17. The Scene 18. Two Reelers 19. Bullet 20. Fitzgerald 21. Elijah 22. The Swimmer 23. Chip Away Boy 24. Fast Man 25. In The Time Of My Ruin 26. I Think I’m Starting To Lose It 27. Calistan 28. Superabound 29. If It Takes All Night 30. Sing For Joy 31. Debaser 32. I’ve Been Tired 33. Speedy Marie 34. St Francis Dam Disaster 35. Selkie Bride 36. Los Angeles 37. Horrible Day 38. Manitoba 39. Don’t Ya Rile ‘Em 40. Pie In The Sky
Even with about 10 too many there's plenty of favourites left off. The man's too good! |

Posted - 08/16/2006 : 12:02:13 This list could get lengthy so i'll only give 3 per category (minus the pixies)
Pixies: Mr. Grieves!!!!, Dancing the Manta Ray!!!, Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf), Hey, In Heaven (just as Omer said), Into the White, Motorway to Roswell, Ana
Orange: Brackish Boy, Parry The Wind, Two Spaces
TOTY: Superabound, Freedom Rock, Space IGDMG
Cult of Ray: Kicked in the Taco, Men in Black, You Ain't Me
Oddballs: Oddball, You Never Heard About Me, Man of Steel (even cooler if it were complete with timpani, castanets, and glockenspiel)
FB&C: Dog Gone, All My Ghosts, Steak 'N' Sabre
Pistolero: Western Star, Skeleton Man, 85 Weeks
Dog in the Sand: The Swimmer, Bullet, If it Takes All Night
BLD: Jet Black River, How You Went So Far, either Black Rider (both together preferably)
DW: Whiskey in your Shoes, Modern Age, Fields of Marigold
SMYT: Massif Central, My Favorite Kiss, Coastline
Honeycomb: My Life is in Storage, Selkie Bride, Another Velvet Nightmare
I don't have FMRM yet unfortunately.
If I hear Superabound, Brackish Boy, Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf), Dancing the Manta Ray, Oddball, and If it Takes All Night, I'll be very happy.
