Thanks a bunch to fbc for noticing:

http://www.thejdset.co.uk/index.aspx

<<Frank Black, Guy Garvey and Richard Hawley will be joining forces on stage for a one-off show with the 'New Silver Cornet Band' - a band of established Tennessee musicians, brought together for one night only.

They will play at the distillery in the tiny town of Lynchburg, Tennessee on 6th October 2006 to a select audience of just 200 competition winners and invited guests flown in from the UK. In the spirit of all JD Sets, after the gig, the artists will celebrate Mr. Jack's Birthday with the fans.

To be in with a chance of experiencing Jack Daniel's Birthday in Tennessee and raise a glass to the man himself - all you need to do is click the link below.

UK residents only.
You must be over 21.

This is some seriously crazy shit. I can't even begin to imagine how cool this would be.

Pud, I can't see no picture which is a damn shame. Have you uploaded it to a web hosting site?

Here's a piece about the show: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_headline=swinging-back-into-action-&method=full&objectid=17923313&siteid=66633-name_page.html

Just spoke to my brother and he had a great time. They got to stay at a Hilton Hotel, got a free tour of the JD distillery, and got to go to an FB gig! Not bad for a weekends work!
He said the gig was a bit surreal because there were so few people there and he was so close to FB. Guy Garvey and Richard Hawley played before FB appeared. He only played a handful of songs: 'I Burn Today', 'Headache', 'Johnny Barleycorn' 'Hey' and 'Wave Of Mutilation'. Then everyone got on stage for a rendition of Cactus in which Garvey took over the vocals. He spoke to John Tiven in the Urinal and then saw FB at the bar. He said he was wrecked because they kept handing out free Jack Daniels so he cant really remember what he said to him, but he did manage to get him to sign a copy of Teenager!
Oh and he also saw Rich Gilbert playing in a bar up the road from where the gig was, seems like all the cool cats hang out in Tenessee...

Was the shit, the trip a bit of a blur. The gig was super chilled out, jack daniels girls running around giving people large amounts of drinks.
The small county where the distilery is, is still dry because the old law says they need more than 1500 votes but there are only 361 fucking people that live there!!!!So theres no tasting what so ever.
Its 2006 for fuck sakes just change the law!!!
So the gig was up the hill a few hundred meters away over the border!!
Comedy!!
The whole band were awesome, both Guy garvey and richard hawley had great sets, FRank played Burn today, headache,Wave, johnny barleycorn,,Hey,Cactus. i think that was it.
Duane jarvis is a really cool guy, had a long discusion with him about how awesome Grandaddy are/were.

later
Peter

Unfortunately not, I think it must be something to do with the competition being run by Jack Daniels and 21 being the legal drinking age in the US.

Wow! Congrats to your brother, rover, sorry you can't go (surely they can bend the rules a bit?). And congrats too to pudmeister.

You lucky S.O.B.s... 2 people from FB.net, what were the chances?
Do they give you a lifetime supply of JD?

You guys will never guess what?! My brother has won the competition! Someone from Jack Daniels rang him just now and said that if he makes sure he faxes them his and his guests passport by tommorow the free tickets and flights are his! Plus he gets to meet FB after the show!

Unfortunately Im not allowed to go with him because they said that the guest also has to be 21 so Im pretty annoyed considering it was me who suggested he enter. Nevertheless, it was him who introduced me to FB in the first place so a fair trade off methinks! He's a big FB fan so Im sure he'll have a great time. Plus he's never been to America so he's really looking forward to that too! What a lucky fuck!!!

In every other respect the French are inferior.

I don't even have a set standard that I use. Sometimes day/month, sometimes month/day, usually depending on who I'm talking to or if they've got it in a certain format already. Year-month-day is the way anything on my computer is labeled because then it organizes chronologically rather nicely.

well this is just ridiculous.
i'm beginning to question my most basic of beliefs because of this thread.
i give up.

back on topic: this competition almost makes living in the UK again worth it.
almost....

Yeah, I'd recommend watching 2001 Maniacs before considering applying for the contest... wouldn't want to end up like this.
