Posted - 04/18/2006 : 12:23:32 Does anybody remember Frank opening for Pearl Jam, I'd guess, sometime around DITS's release? I remember reading a "Stone Gossard's 60 Minutes" column in Guitar World (basically a column where popular guitarists are asked to list their favorite songs for a 60 minute mix tape) where he included "Hermaphroditos" as one of the selections. He also said some other real nice stuff about touring with, and/or enjoying Frank's music.
Anybody read any of this? Catch any of the shows? How long were they out together? Stuff like that. Sorry if this is a repeat. |

Posted - 04/18/2006 : 23:03:12 I was at the Rapid City show. It was my first Frank show, and it was great. I didn't even see all of Pearl Jam. This was at the time when I thought "The Catholics" were another band all together. It wasn't until I got posters and t-shirts at the merchandise booth that I realized that He had a new band. And yeah, Eddie would occasionally add Pixies lyrics to songs. I think it was usually at the end of Daughter. Can't remember. Frank Black rocks.

Posted - 04/18/2006 : 15:35:03 I've read a story about it and Frank Black did tour with Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder even sing some quotes off I've Been Tired and they used to play a Pixies' song. |
